The honest version: Los Angeles's real 2026 luxury crop is smaller and more Beverly Hills-centric than the round-ups suggest, and the two splashiest names on most lists are not opening this year at all. Open and bookable now: the 44-room Hôtel Lili in Beverly Hills (opened 2 April 2026) and the 138-room Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts (debuted 26 January 2026). Still ahead: Ian Schrager's PUBLIC West Hollywood on 15 July 2026 and the Jordan San Gabriel in September. Not happening in 2026: the halted Bulgari Benedict Canyon resort and the 2028 Aman at One Beverly Hills.

The four real openings, at a glance
Here is the part that saves a wasted booking, sorted the way a skeptic plans a trip: status first, so you can see in one line which of these you can sleep in tonight and which are still a press release. Two are trading now; two are dated but not yet open.
| Hotel | Area | Status (June 2026) | Rooms / note |
| The Hôtel Lili, Beverly Hills | Beverly Hills (off Rodeo) | Open since 2 Apr 2026 | 44 rooms; Palisociety, 1939 residence |
| Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts | Beverly Hills edge (Beverwil Dr) | Open since 26 Jan 2026 | 138 rooms; rebrand of Mr. C, full reno |
| PUBLIC West Hollywood | Sunset Strip, West Hollywood | Scheduled 15 Jul 2026, not yet open | 137 rooms; Schrager, old Standard site |
| The Jordan San Gabriel, Curio Collection | San Gabriel (~10 mi east of DTLA) | Scheduled Sep 2026, not yet open | 212 rooms; Hilton Curio, suburban |
How these were checked, and why two big names were cut
Every date here was verified in June 2026 against the operator's own announcement or reputable trade press, and the bar for the word open is plain: the hotel is genuinely trading and taking guests. Where a date is still a target it is marked scheduled. The skeptical part is what got left off. Bulgari Resort Los Angeles appears on many 2026 lists, but the Benedict Canyon project was effectively halted when the City Council voted to reconsider its zoning, and nothing has been built; it is not a 2026 opening. Aman Beverly Hills is real and rising, but its own timeline points to phased delivery from 2027 and completion around 2028, not this year. Ranking either as a 2026 stay would mislead you, so both sit in the honest footnote below rather than the table above.
The openings, status first

Beverly Hills · Open now
The Hôtel Lili, Beverly Hills
Opened 2 April 2026 · 44 rooms
What it actually is: the year's most convincing genuinely-new LA opening, because it is a real conversion rather than a rebrand. The Hôtel Lili opened on 2 April 2026 as part of Avi Brosh's Palisociety group, inside a 1939 residence at 140 South Lasky Drive, a quiet street a few minutes' walk from Rodeo Drive. It is a 44-room boutique that leans into the building's old-Hollywood bones, with a European, retro-chic register and the intimate, low-key feel of a house rather than a tower.
Who it is right for: travellers who want character, a small front desk that learns your name, and a Beverly Hills address without a palatial lobby. Early reviews single out the design and the residential calm just off the shopping core.
The honest caveat: 44 rooms in a converted house means this is not a full-service resort. There is no sprawling spa, no ballroom, no loyalty programme to earn points in, and a small property can feel tight if you want a gym-pool-club-room set-up under one roof. If facilities matter more than character, the Cameo below or an established grande dame will serve you better.

Beverly Hills edge · Open now
Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts
Debuted 26 January 2026 · 138 rooms
What it actually is: a full-service hotel reborn rather than built from scratch. Cameo Beverly Hills debuted on 26 January 2026 after a complete transformation of the former Mr. C Beverly Hills, joining Hilton's LXR Hotels & Resorts luxury collection. It holds 138 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony, plus a reimagined pool deck, a Peruvian-Nikkei restaurant called Zampo, a lobby bar named Silhouette, and a 12th-floor Starlight Ballroom with wraparound city views. It sits on Beverwil Drive on the quieter southern edge of the Beverly Hills area, moments from Rodeo Drive, and earns Hilton Honors points.
Why it is worth a look: the private balconies are genuinely unusual at this size in this neighbourhood, and the LXR flag plus Hilton Honors gives points-collectors a luxury redemption in a city short on them.
The honest caveat: read the word debut carefully. This is a renovation and rebrand, not a ground-up new hotel, so the bones, the floor plates and the residential-edge location are inherited from Mr. C, and the address is on the city-of-LA fringe of Beverly Hills rather than in its prime triangle. If you specifically want a brand-new building, the Lili is the more honest "new", and if you want to be right inside the shopping district you will be taking short rides.

Sunset Strip · Scheduled
PUBLIC West Hollywood
Scheduled 15 July 2026 · 137 rooms
What it actually is: the year's headline debut, and the one that earns the most patience. PUBLIC West Hollywood is set to open on 15 July 2026 as Ian Schrager's third PUBLIC hotel, a 137-room property on the Sunset Strip in the building that housed the original Standard, Hollywood from 1999 until it closed in 2021. Schrager has reworked it with British minimalist architect John Pawson, and the draw is a 16,000-square-foot rooftop park with open-air city views, a pool, and three food, drink and entertainment venues.
When: mid-July 2026 by the latest reporting. As of June 2026 it had not opened, and a Sunset Strip launch of this profile can shift by weeks.
Honest note: do not anchor a date-critical trip to it yet, and be clear-eyed about the brand. PUBLIC is Schrager's "democratic luxury" concept, which means style and scene over deep service; reporting flags no in-room televisions and no celebrity-chef restaurant, by design. If you want a quiet, full-service luxury stay, that is a feature for some and a deal-breaker for others. Book a hotel that is already trading and switch to PUBLIC only once it opens and real reviews land.

San Gabriel · Scheduled
The Jordan San Gabriel, Curio Collection by Hilton
Scheduled September 2026 · 212 rooms
What it actually is: the largest of the year's arrivals, and the one whose label needs an asterisk. The Jordan San Gabriel, a Curio Collection by Hilton property, is scheduled for September 2026 with 212 rooms at 111 West Valley Boulevard, plus a heated pool, a third-floor fitness centre, a spa and a ballroom with a rooftop banquet room overlooking the San Gabriel Mountains.
When: September 2026 by Hilton's listing, and as of June 2026 it was not yet accepting reservations.
Honest note: this is in San Gabriel, roughly ten miles east of downtown, not in central Los Angeles, so it is an upscale suburban hotel rather than a Westside luxury address. For a wedding, a San Gabriel Valley visit or value with Hilton points it makes sense; for a Beverly Hills, Hollywood or beach trip it is the wrong base, and the distance is the honest catch. Confirm the opening and book direct once reservations open rather than pre-paying a third-party rate.

The honest footnote: two hyped names that are not 2026 openings
If you have seen a 2026 LA list with Bulgari or Aman near the top, this is where they belong instead. Bulgari Resort Los Angeles was planned for a hillside in Benedict Canyon with 58 rooms and suites, but the Los Angeles City Council voted to reconsider the zoning change the project depended on, after the Save Our Canyon residents' campaign, and the resort has not been built; there is no 2026 opening, and the only Bulgari hotel in the United States is in Miami. Aman Beverly Hills, part of the One Beverly Hills development at Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards, is genuinely under construction, but Aman's own plan points to phased delivery from 2027 and completion near 2028, around the Los Angeles Olympics, with roughly 78 suites alongside branded residences. Both are worth tracking. Neither is a place you can sleep in 2026.
One more to watch, with a caveat: Hotel Lucile in Silver Lake, a 25-room Casetta boutique inside a 1931 former church, has been announced for an opening that slipped from late 2025 into 2026. As of June 2026 its trading status was not clearly confirmed, so verify it is genuinely open and read live reviews before you book rather than trusting the announcement.
How to book a 2026 LA opening without getting burned
Three rules hold up in a year this thin. First, separate "open" from "announced": only The Hôtel Lili and Cameo Beverly Hills are trading today, so if your dates are fixed, book one of those rather than a property with a target date. Second, never pre-pay a third-party "pre-opening" rate for PUBLIC, the Jordan or anything still scheduled; dates on Sunset Strip and suburban builds slip, and you want a cancellable, direct booking. Third, match the hotel to the trip honestly: the Lili for intimate Beverly Hills character, Cameo for full-service rooms with balconies and Hilton points, PUBLIC for scene and a rooftop once it opens, and the Jordan only if the San Gabriel Valley, not the Westside, is where you actually need to be.
Frequently asked questions
- What new luxury hotels are opening in Los Angeles in 2026?
- Two are already open and taking guests: The Hôtel Lili in Beverly Hills, a 44-room Palisociety hotel inside a 1939 residence off Rodeo Drive, opened on 2 April 2026; and Cameo Beverly Hills, LXR Hotels & Resorts, a 138-room property that debuted on 26 January 2026 after a full transformation of the former Mr. C Beverly Hills. Two more are scheduled later in the year: Ian Schrager's 137-room PUBLIC West Hollywood on the old Standard Sunset site, due 15 July 2026, and the 212-room Jordan San Gabriel, Curio Collection by Hilton, due September 2026. The two most-hyped names, a Bulgari resort and an Aman, are not opening in 2026.
- Is the Bulgari hotel in Los Angeles opening in 2026?
- No. The Bulgari Resort Los Angeles, planned for a hillside site in Benedict Canyon, was halted when the Los Angeles City Council voted 8-6 in 2023 to reconsider the zoning change it relied on, after sustained opposition from the Save Our Canyon residents' group. No hotel has been built and there is no 2026 opening, so treat any list that ranks Bulgari among this year's LA openings as out of date. If you want a Bulgari in the United States, the brand's American hotel is in Miami, not Los Angeles.
- When does PUBLIC West Hollywood open?
- PUBLIC West Hollywood is scheduled to open on 15 July 2026. It is Ian Schrager's third PUBLIC hotel, a 137-room property on the Sunset Strip in the building that housed the original Standard, Hollywood from 1999 until it closed in 2021, redesigned with British minimalist architect John Pawson. As of June 2026 it had not opened, so do not build a fixed trip around it: book a hotel that is already trading and switch only once PUBLIC is confirmed open and you can see real guest reviews.
- Which new Los Angeles hotel can I actually book right now?
- The Hôtel Lili and Cameo Beverly Hills are the two genuinely open 2026 arrivals, and both are in or beside Beverly Hills. Choose The Hôtel Lili if you want a small, design-led boutique with 44 rooms and an intimate, residential feel a few minutes from Rodeo Drive. Choose Cameo Beverly Hills if you want a larger full-service hotel with 138 rooms, private balconies, a pool deck, a Peruvian restaurant and Hilton Honors points. Both are bookable today; PUBLIC West Hollywood and the Jordan San Gabriel are still ahead.
- What is the difference between The Hôtel Lili and Cameo Beverly Hills?
- Scale, brand and feel. The Hôtel Lili is an independent 44-room Palisociety boutique in a converted 1939 house on South Lasky Drive, quiet and residential, with no big-hotel facilities or loyalty programme. Cameo Beverly Hills is a 138-room hotel under Hilton's LXR luxury collection, created by a complete renovation and rebrand of the former Mr. C Beverly Hills, with private balconies, a pool deck, a signature restaurant and a 12th-floor ballroom. Pick the Lili for character and intimacy, Cameo for space, facilities and Hilton points.
- Is the Aman in Beverly Hills open yet?
- No. Aman Beverly Hills, part of the One Beverly Hills development at Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards, is not a 2026 opening. Vertical construction began in autumn 2025, phased delivery is targeted from late 2027, and full completion is aimed at 2028, ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics. It is planned as a roughly 78-suite hotel alongside Aman-branded residences. If a Beverly Hills stay is the goal in 2026, look to the open arrivals above or an established address rather than Aman.
