The points angle up top: Miami's 2026 openings are a rare gift for collectors, because four of the five book on a major program. Brickell Arch (open now), the Royal Palm South Beach reopening and the relaunching Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour are all Marriott Bonvoy; Hilton Miami Beach is Hilton Honors. Only The Dean Miami sits outside the chains. And a clear-eyed note: the old Mandarin Oriental was imploded in April 2026, so it is not a 2026 opening.

How we picked and verified these
This list is bookable luxury hotels, not the wave of branded condo-residences (Waldorf Astoria, Cipriani, Baccarat and the like) that dominate Miami headlines but sell apartments rather than nightly rooms. Each entry was confirmed as opening, reopening or already operating in 2026 against the property, its brand or the Greater Miami tourism board, with its loyalty status checked on the current major program terms. Where a hotel is mid-renovation we say so plainly, and we lead with the loyalty program because in Miami, for once, the new openings are genuinely points-bookable.
The new and reopening hotels

Brickell, Miami
Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel
Open April 2026 · 201 rooms · Marriott Bonvoy
Why it leads: it is the one you can actually book today. Brickell Arch opened on 14 April 2026 with 201 rooms above Biscayne Bay in the Brickell financial district, topped by a 25th-floor sky lounge and anchored by ADRIFT Mare, a Mediterranean room from Michelin-starred chef David Myers. It is the first true Luxury Collection flag in Brickell, and it slots straight into a neighbourhood short on top-tier hotel rooms.
For points travelers: as a Luxury Collection property it earns and redeems Marriott Bonvoy, so suite-night awards, Elite breakfast in the lounge and free-night certificates all apply. This is the cleanest Bonvoy redemption in Brickell right now.
Honest note: Brickell is business-and-bay, not beach. If sand outside your door is the point of Miami, this is the wrong base and you want the South Beach or Bal Harbour entries below.

South Beach, Miami Beach
Royal Palm South Beach, a Tribute Portfolio Resort
Reopening 2026 · $100m revamp · Marriott Bonvoy
Why it’s here: the oceanfront Royal Palm on Collins Avenue is reopening in 2026 after a roughly $100 million renovation backed by Park Hotels, with a redesigned pool deck, its own bar and restaurant and a rooftop event space. It keeps its Art Deco bones while moving up a tier, and it puts a Bonvoy beachfront option back on the central South Beach oceanfront.
For points travelers: it stays a Tribute Portfolio resort inside Marriott Bonvoy, so points, elite benefits and free-night certs carry over. Tribute rates often price below the marquee Bonvoy beach hotels, which can make this a value redemption on the sand.
Status: reopening in 2026, with arrivals reported from around the start of September 2026. Confirm the live reopening date before booking, as revamp timelines slip.

Collins Park, Miami Beach
Hilton Miami Beach
Opening December 2026 · Art Deco landmark · Hilton Honors
Why it’s here: Hilton is opening a boutique Miami Beach hotel inside a restored historic Art Deco building near Collins Park, slated for December 2026, with playfully designed rooms, three dining concepts, an elevated pool deck and a 24/7 fitness centre. It gives the brand a genuine design-led presence in the Collins Park cluster rather than a generic box.
For points travelers, the Honors pick: this is the standout for Hilton Honors collectors, who otherwise have thin luxury options in the immediate South Beach core. Watch for the fifth-night-free benefit on award stays, which softens peak-season Miami Beach rates considerably.
Honest note: a December 2026 target on a historic renovation is the kind of date that drifts into early 2027, so do not build a New Year trip around it until it is confirmed open.

Bal Harbour, Miami
The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour, Miami
Reopening late 2026 · reimagined · Marriott Bonvoy
Why it’s here: the Ritz-Carlton in Bal Harbour closed for a top-to-bottom renovation and is relaunching as a reimagined oceanfront resort, with a chef-led signature restaurant, a members club and an expanded Ritz-Carlton spa. Bal Harbour pairs the beach with the city’s best luxury shopping, and a refreshed Ritz-Carlton restores a heavyweight Bonvoy address north of South Beach.
Status: closed for renovation now, with reopening reported for late 2026 into early 2027. It is not bookable until it reopens, so treat any far-out date with caution.
For points travelers: still Marriott Bonvoy, and a relaunched Ritz-Carlton is exactly where a 5-night award and a suite upgrade earn their keep against in-season oceanfront cash rates.

South Beach, Miami Beach
The Dean Miami
Opening late 2026 · 235 rooms · independent
Why it’s here: the Dean is an Irish-born independent lifestyle group, and Miami is its first US hotel, taking over South Beach’s Gates Hotel with 235 rooms in late 2026. Expect the brand’s design-forward, culture-led style, a POWER gym concept, an outdoor pool and bar, a signature restaurant and a late-night speakeasy, aimed squarely at a younger luxury crowd.
For points travelers, the honest exception: there is no chain currency here. The Dean is fully independent, so you cannot earn or burn Bonvoy or Honors. Book it on rate or through a card’s travel portal, and spend your points elsewhere on this list.
Honest note: lifestyle-brand openings often launch with teething issues and a party-leaning vibe, so it is a better fit for design and scene than for a quiet, service-first luxury stay.

What is not opening: the Mandarin Oriental note
If you are searching for the Mandarin Oriental Miami, read this first: the original 23-storey hotel on Brickell Key was permanently closed and imploded on 12 April 2026, the largest implosion the city had seen in over a decade. In its place, a two-tower development called The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Miami is planned, with a new Mandarin Oriental hotel positioned as the brand’s North American flagship inside it, but completion is targeted for around 2030. It is neither open nor bookable in 2026, and any listing presenting it as a current Miami hotel is out of date.
The same caution applies to Miami’s headline branded towers. The Waldorf Astoria, Cipriani and Baccarat names attached to Miami buildings are largely residences, condominiums you buy rather than rooms you book, and where a hotel component exists it generally lands after 2026. We will add them here as bookable hotels only once they actually open with nightly rooms.
Frequently asked questions
- What new luxury hotels are opening in Miami in 2026?
- The headline 2026 arrivals are Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel (already open as of April 2026), the reopening Royal Palm South Beach (a Tribute Portfolio resort), Hilton Miami Beach in a restored Art Deco building (December 2026), the reimagined Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour (reopening late 2026 into early 2027) and The Dean Miami on South Beach (late 2026).
- Which new Miami hotels can you book with points?
- Four of the five. Brickell Arch (Luxury Collection), Royal Palm South Beach (Tribute Portfolio) and the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour all sit in Marriott Bonvoy, and Hilton Miami Beach books through Hilton Honors. The Dean Miami is the exception: it is an independent Irish lifestyle brand with no chain points, so book it through a card or advisor program instead.
- Is the Mandarin Oriental Miami still open?
- No. The original Mandarin Oriental on Brickell Key was permanently closed and imploded on 12 April 2026 to make way for a new two-tower development. A new Mandarin Oriental flagship is planned for that site but is not expected to be completed until around 2030, so it is not a 2026 opening and cannot be booked today.
- When does Brickell Arch open and what is it?
- Brickell Arch, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Miami opened on 14 April 2026. It is a 201-room hotel overlooking Biscayne Bay in the Brickell financial district, with a 25th-floor sky lounge and ADRIFT Mare, a Mediterranean restaurant from Michelin-starred chef David Myers. As a Luxury Collection property it earns and redeems Marriott Bonvoy points.
- Is the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour open in 2026?
- Not for most of the year. The Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour closed for a full renovation and is scheduled to reopen in late 2026 into early 2027 as a reimagined, roughly 108-room resort with a members club and an expanded spa. Until it reopens it is not bookable, so check the live reopening date before planning a stay.
- What is the best new Miami hotel for a points stay?
- For availability right now, Brickell Arch is the pick, since it is open and bookable on Bonvoy. If you collect Hilton Honors, Hilton Miami Beach is the one to watch for December 2026. Bonvoy collectors who want beach over bay should track the Royal Palm South Beach reopening and the Ritz-Carlton Bal Harbour relaunch.
