Inside Park Hyatt Seoul: #13 for business

Park Hyatt Seoul ranks #13 on our 2026 Top 20 Business Hotels list. The case below explains why, the lobby, the breakfast, the suite category that gets paid up for, and the alternatives we measured it against.

“In Gangnam beside COEX, 185 rooms with a top-floor indoor pool, the polished Gangnam business luxury.”

The hotel itself

One hundred and eighty-five rooms on the top floors of a Gangnam tower, opened 2005 as Park Hyatt's Korean flagship. Floor-to-ceiling windows in every room and the most polished modern Gangnam business-luxury answer.

"185 rooms on top floors of Gangnam tower. Park Hyatt's Korean flagship, the polished modern Gangnam business-luxury."

Park Hyatt Seoul opened in 2005 in Gangnam, Seoul's primary contemporary business-and-luxury district south of the Han River, occupying the upper floors of a 24-story glass tower designed by the Japanese firm Super Potato (the property's signature feature: every guest room has substantial city views from the upper-floor positioning). The architectural premise is contemporary modernist with substantial Korean craft accents; the interiors integrate Park Hyatt's signature contemporary-luxury aesthetic with substantial use of Korean wood, stone, and craft elements.

Why it works for business

Major business cities, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, San Francisco, reward hotels that are operationally serious about the deal trip. The standard is high but the differentiation is local: each of these cities has a specific business neighbourhood (Pudong in Shanghai, the Loop in Chicago, DIFC in Dubai, K Street in Washington), and the hotels that succeed are the ones that read the geography correctly.

Park Hyatt is the Hyatt Group's quiet flagship, twenty-six properties globally and zero attempts to grow faster. For business travel Park Hyatt is the most consistently right answer in luxury: the interiors are restrained, the service is considered, the bars are uniformly the right ones (Park Hyatt Tokyo's New York Bar arguably created the genre, Park Hyatt Vienna's club is the most underrated in luxury, Park Hyatt Seoul's library bar is the best room in Gangnam). The brand exists for the traveller who wants urban luxury without resort theatre.

The 185 rooms split between the entry-level Park Deluxe Rooms (with city views), Park Suites (with the larger configurations), Diplomat Suites with substantial in-room living spaces, the Presidential Suite (the property's flagship), and a number of design-distinctive accommodations. The Park Deluxe Rooms are the most-requested category, every room features floor-to-ceiling windows and substantial Park Hyatt-modern interiors. The Presidential Suite occupies the top floor with substantial private space and the city's most extensive panoramic Seoul-skyline views.

The grounds, the heated indoor swimming pool with floor-to-ceiling windows over Gangnam, the comprehensive Park Spa (with traditional Korean wellness treatments alongside contemporary luxury), the fitness centre, and the multi-restaurant complex, make Park Hyatt Seoul comprehensively-equipped despite its concentrated-tower-floor footprint.

Where it ranks against rivals

For a 2026 deal trip at this level, the nearest comparisons on this list are Park Hyatt Zurich in Zurich (#11), Mandarin Oriental, Paris in Paris (#12), and Mandarin Oriental, New York in New York (#14). Park Hyatt Seoul holds its place mainly on address and the calm, design-led service that suits a long meeting; the hotels ranked around it are excellent too, and your specific city and itinerary may make one of them the better call.

Practical: getting in

Why this hotel works for business

Editorial · #13 on the Top 20 Business Hotels 2026 list

Park Hyatt Seoul ranks #13 for business as Gangnam's quiet, design-led executive hotel. Opened in 2005 beside the COEX trade center and Samsung's headquarters, it sits at the heart of Seoul's contemporary business district south of the Han River.

For Seoul business travelers, it is the polished Gangnam address: 185 rooms on the upper floors of a 24-story Super Potato-designed tower, with Cornerstone for Italian dining and The Timber House, a lower-level vinyl bar and Japanese izakaya. The Presidential Suite is the property's flagship, and World of Hyatt Globalist members get the brand's elite recognition. The honest trade-off is that Gangnam is removed from the historic centre, so this suits a corporate trip more than a sightseeing one.
