Park Hyatt Zurich opened in 2004 on Beethoven-Strasse in Enge, the residential-and-commercial district just west of Lake Zurich's shore between Burkliplatz and Tessinerplatz. Its restrained stone-and-glass envelope draws the early-20th-century apartment houses around it into a contemporary frame. The Onyx Bar is the cocktail venue; the Lobby Lounge is the all-day setting. Parkhuus has held a Bib Gourmand for several years and the kitchen runs at one of the most reliable levels in the city's hotel-restaurant programme, particularly at lunch when the room is the de-facto canteen for the surrounding insurance-and-banking offices.
