The hotel itself
Cheval Blanc took over the former Hotel Isle de France on Flamands Beach in 2013 and reopened it as its first Caribbean Maison. It is small, fewer than fifty rooms, suites and villas along the sand, with La Case de l'Isle by the pool and La Cabane de l'Isle on the beach. Flamands is an open Atlantic bay, so the surf runs strong and the resort closes from September into mid-October, but the sunset is the most recognisable Caribbean proposal frame at this latitude.
