The Hotel

The Anaheim Marriott runs across two thirteen-storey towers above a low convention podium on Convention Way, with a private walkway connecting the lobby directly into the Anaheim Convention Center. The hotel opened in 1981, ran a complete top-to-bottom renovation through 2018 to 2020, and now reads as the most polished of the legacy convention properties on the south side of the campus. The lobby is a long, double-height room in warm walnut and pale stone, with a generous lounge bar that becomes the de facto pre-keynote meeting point during the city's biggest weeks.

Rooms run from roughly 32 to 42 square metres in the standard categories, with two-bedroom suites at the corners stretching to 90 square metres. The renovation moved the building decisively away from the convention beige of the early 2000s; current rooms wear a quiet palette of charcoal, oak, and warm white, with king platforms, full work desks, and the Marriott Bonvoy keyless entry standard. Higher-floor rooms in the West Tower face Disneyland and catch the nightly fireworks at 9:30 from October through the summer peak. Bathrooms are competent rather than indulgent, with walk-in showers in most categories and tubs reserved for the upper suites.

Food and beverage runs across four venues. nFuse is the all-day restaurant on the lobby level, with a buffet breakfast that handles a thousand-cover morning without breaking; Pizza Vino on the pool deck does a credible casual evening menu; the Lobby Bar is the social anchor; and Starbucks sits inside the convention link. None of this is destination dining, and the property does not pretend otherwise. The point of the food and beverage program is to keep a convention guest fed efficiently before, during, and after the show floor opens.

The pool deck holds two heated outdoor pools and a whirlpool with cabanas, deliberately scaled for families who use the hotel as a Disneyland base. The fitness center is open twenty-four hours and well-equipped, and the Marriott group's Bonvoy elite breakfast and lounge run from the Concierge Lounge on the top floor of the West Tower with skyline views across the Resort District. Where the property genuinely earns its place at #7 in Anaheim is location: the Disneyland main gate is a flat four-block walk on Harbor Boulevard, the Convention Center is reached without leaving the building, and John Wayne Airport is fourteen miles south. For travellers running a convention day and a Disney evening from the same room, no other hotel on this list executes the dual role as cleanly.

Best Occasion Fit

Business

For a convention or corporate stay in Anaheim, the Marriott is the operationally cleanest answer of the major properties on the campus. The private walkway into the Convention Center is the single most useful piece of architecture in the Resort District; the Concierge Lounge runs proper continental breakfast, all-day snacks, and evening hors d'oeuvres for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum and above; and the 100,000 square feet of meeting space inside the hotel itself absorbs satellite events without spilling guests into rideshare queues.

Family Holiday

As a Disney base, the Marriott trades some of the in-park magic for a meaningful set of practical advantages: the four-block walk to the main gate is genuinely flat and stroller-friendly, the two-pool deck gives kids a decompression space after a fourteen-hour park day, and the room rate runs $200 to $400 below comparable Disney-branded inventory across most of the year. Connecting room availability is strong, and the King Studio Suite holds a family of five without an upcharge.
