Six hundred and eighteen rooms across a single contemporary tower on West Katella Avenue, opened June 2021, directly across from the Anaheim Convention Centre and a fifteen-minute walk through the Resort district to the Disneyland gate.
"The cleanest contemporary stay in Anaheim that does not require a wristband, and the city's most credible business and convention base."
The Westin Anaheim Resort opened in June 2021 on the south side of Katella Avenue, directly across from the Anaheim Convention Centre, and is the most recent ground-up luxury build in the city. The exterior is a single contemporary glass tower with a stone-and-bronze plinth that contains the lobby, dining, and convention-floor functions, while the upper twelve floors hold the room inventory. The building's quietly successful gesture is its scale, large enough to support a 50,000-square-foot conference programme and the city's biggest non-Disney pool deck, but small enough that the lobby and elevator core never feel like a convention queue. The Westin opened with AAA Four Diamond status and has held it since.
The 618 rooms break down across 161 King and 335 Queen standards (370 square feet each), 78 studio rooms (489 square feet), 42 Parkview Junior Suites (721 square feet), and a single 1,500-square-foot Presidential Suite with a wraparound balcony. The room product is the more important story, the design palette is a calm contemporary California vocabulary in walnut, pale linen, and soft white, with the Westin Heavenly Bed in every category and a balcony in every room. The Parkview Junior Suites on the upper north-facing floors look directly onto the Disneyland nightly fireworks line, which is the room of choice for couples doing a milestone trip without the Disney commitment.
Dining runs four rooms across the public floors. Tangerine Room is the property's main restaurant, a Spanish-and-French rotisserie programme with a tasting menu format that is the most ambitious non-Disney kitchen in the city. Fifth and Rose is the rooftop bar on the twelfth floor with a year-round retractable roof and a view onto the Disneyland fireworks at 9:30 every evening. Mosaic Bar handles the lobby cocktail trade and Bartine is the all-day cafe. Breakfast is the surprisingly strong meal, plated and disciplined rather than buffet, and is the operational signature for the business guest base.
The pool deck is the property's third defining amenity, 27,000 square feet of zero-edge resort pool, a 75-foot two-storey waterslide, three fire pits, and the Cabana Bar that runs lunch service until late. The Heavenly Spa runs eight treatment rooms and the property's quietly strong wellness floor. The Westin's location does the rest, a fifteen-minute walk to the Disneyland gate, the entire Anaheim GardenWalk dining district on the doorstep, and the Convention Centre across the road for the business and meeting bookings that fund the property through the week. This is Anaheim's most credible four-day business stay.
The Westin is the cleanest business booking in Anaheim. The Convention Centre is across the road, the conference programme inside the building is the largest non-Disney convention space in the city, and the room product runs as quietly as any business hotel on the Marriott platform. The Heavenly Spa, the rooftop bar, and the pool deck add the after-hours layer that the Hilton and the Marriott across the district cannot match operationally.
For a family trip that wants the Disney parks without staying inside the Disney machine, the Westin is the closest substitute. The pool deck is the city's largest non-Disney version, the studio rooms accept four with a separate sleeping area, and the fifteen-minute walk to the Disneyland gate (through Downtown Disney for two-thirds of the route) is operationally easier than most off-property hotels promise. The Parkview Junior Suites on the upper floors hold the fireworks line directly.
For an anniversary that wants Anaheim without the wristband, the Westin runs the most credible contemporary romance booking in the city. The Tangerine Room is the most ambitious kitchen on the Resort district, the rooftop bar holds the fireworks view at 9:30 every evening, and the Parkview Junior Suites are the right room for a milestone weekend. The Heavenly Spa adds the wellness layer that the Disney hotels do not run at the same level.
