The Reef at Atlantis opened in 2007 alongside The Cove as the second of the two newer Atlantis components added to the cluster across 2005-2007. The Reef is the family-and-extended-stay Atlantis tower, a 497-suite condo-resort configuration where every suite includes a full kitchenette (or full kitchen in the larger multi-bedroom configurations), making the property configured for week-long family stays where guests prepare some meals in-suite and use the cluster-wide Atlantis restaurant inventory for the rest. The Reef is the only Atlantis component with the condo-resort kitchenette configuration and is the family-stay alternative to The Cove's adults-focused all-suite tower.

The 497 keys are spread across a contemporary 17-storey tower. Categories run from entry-tier Studio Suites (45 sqm with kitchenette and one bedroom-area) through One-Bedroom Suites (65 sqm with separate bedroom and full kitchenette) to multi-bedroom Suites (90-150 sqm with full kitchen, two-three-or-four bedrooms, the property's signature family-friendly category) and the named Penthouse Suite (200 sqm with private rooftop terrace and full chef-style kitchen).
