The Hotel

Rosewood Bangkok opened in March 2019 — the brand's first hotel in Thailand and the most considered Rosewood arrival in Asia in a decade. The 30-storey tower at 1041/38 Ploenchit Road was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the New York firm behind 30 Hudson Yards, the Shanghai World Financial Center, and the Hong Kong Lippo Centre. The form is a deliberate gesture toward traditional Thai prayer hands — two slender curving wings rising in parallel from a podium base, with a deep cantilever at the upper levels housing the Manor Houses and Lennon's. Interior architecture is by Brennan Beer Gorman of New York with hand-detailed Thai craft elements integrated through every public space — a deliberate Rosewood "Sense of Place" expression that has become the brand's most quoted contemporary Asian flagship.

There are 158 rooms and suites across the lower 26 floors of the tower. Standard Premier Rooms run to 47 square metres — generous by central Bangkok standards — with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Ploenchit corridor or the Lumpini Park forest beyond. The Manor Suites, on the upper floors of the property, run to 90 square metres with separate sitting rooms; the four Manor Houses — the property's signature Rosewood House product — occupy the 28th and 29th floors and run to 250 square metres with private outdoor terraces and plunge pools, the only hotel rooms in central Bangkok with private outdoor swimming pools. The Royal Manor House, on the 29th floor, runs to 320 square metres with a private elevator landing. The interior register: bleached oak, hand-loomed Thai silk, large-scale ink-and-watercolour works, and bathrooms with deep stone soaking tubs and Asaya bath products developed for Rosewood.

The dining and bar programme runs across five venues. Nan Bei runs a contemporary Chinese kitchen referencing both northern and southern regional traditions in two adjoining dining rooms with a working dim sum cart at lunch. Lakorn — French-Thai fusion under a former Le Normandie chef — runs the property's signature dinner programme. The Lobby Lounge serves the city's most considered Saturday afternoon tea and the property's all-day informal menu. Lennon's, the speakeasy on the 30th floor, opened in 2024 and runs a Beatles-and-vinyl programme with one of Southeast Asia's most extensive vinyl record collections — open from 6 PM with floor-to-ceiling windows over the Bangkok skyline. The Sense of Place cocktail menu, which references Thai musical traditions, is the bar's signature programme.

The Asaya Spa runs across two floors with eight treatment rooms and a working Pilates studio. The 27-metre infinity pool sits on the 11th-floor podium roof with cabanas and a working all-day pool kitchen. The fitness centre is open 24 hours. The hotel's central position on Ploenchit — between Central Embassy mall and Lumpini Park — is the practical advantage: BTS Ploenchit and BTS Chitlom are both within five minutes' walk, and Suvarnabhumi Airport is 35 minutes by Airport Rail Link from BTS Phaya Thai. The neighbourhood density of luxury retail (Central Embassy, Central Chidlom, Gaysorn, Erawan) makes this the city's strongest five-star booking when shopping and central business are part of the brief.

Best Occasion Fit

Anniversary

For Bangkok anniversaries at the city-centre, modern-luxury end — couples who prefer central shopping and dining over the riverside slow-pace — Rosewood is the most considered booking. The Manor House for a milestone year (the only hotel rooms in Bangkok with private plunge pools); a Saturday afternoon tea programme in the Lobby Lounge; dinner at Lakorn; cocktails at Lennon's after dinner; the Asaya Spa for the morning after. The Rosewood Sense of Place programme handles the in-property orchestration.

Business

For Bangkok business at the central-corridor end — Ploenchit, Sukhumvit, the Sathorn legal corridor — Rosewood is the most central five-star with the right register. The Premier Rooms with city-view desks face the working corridor; the lobby at 8 AM is the city's working-coffee venue at this tier; Nan Bei at lunchtime is one of the city's most reliable working tables. The boardrooms on the 12th floor handle small executive sessions. The BTS Ploenchit and BTS Chitlom stations connect to the rest of the city in twenty minutes.

Honeymoon

For an Asian honeymoon anchored on Bangkok with a strong shopping component before continuing to the islands, Rosewood is the most considered city booking. The Manor Suite as a standard upgrade; the Manor House for milestone trips. Honeymoon turn-down at Rosewood includes Krug, hand-rolled chocolates, and the Lakorn dégustation menu booked on arrival. The walk to Erawan Shrine, Central Embassy, and Gaysorn means the in-city programme runs without effort.
