"The Four Points has never traded on charm and does not start here. What it does, quietly and well, is run a clean 139-key three-star with eleven thousand square feet of meetings space, free parking, and the easiest small-conference setup south of the river."

The Hotel

The Four Points by Sheraton Edmonton South occupies a seven-storey building on Argyll Road, three minutes from the Whitemud Drive corridor and roughly ten minutes from both downtown and the south Edmonton commercial belt. The building dates to the late 1990s and was last renovated under the Marriott Four Points refresh programme in 2019. The exterior is suburban office park rather than hospitality, but the interior has been brought into the contemporary Four Points vocabulary: grey woods, slate accents, a redone lobby bar, and a brighter breakfast room than the original build provided.

Rooms across the 139-key inventory run the Four Points standard at 28 to 32 square metres, with the usual Marriott bedding and a quiet HVAC system that is the property's underrated strength. Standard kings carry a desk and a small soft chair; two-queen rooms hold a family of four with a sofa bed in the corner suite categories. Junior suites at 45 square metres add a separate sitting area and a Nespresso. Bathrooms are walk-in showers with rainheads in standard categories and a tub-shower in the family rooms. Upper-floor rooms on the south side carry city skyline glimpses across the river valley on clear days.

Food and beverage centres on the Argyll Public House, a 90-seat pub-style restaurant on the lobby level with a workable Alberta steak and burger menu, a tight craft beer programme weighted to Alley Kat and Bent Stick, and a daily lunch buffet that books out reliably for the meeting trade. Breakfast is a la carte with a small buffet option for groups, and the lobby Best Brews lounge handles the late-arrival cocktail and the post-meeting wind-down. There is no signature dining ambition here and the kitchen does not chase one; the point is reliable, properly portioned food at a sensible price.

The recreation deck is a 16-metre indoor pool, a hot tub, and a small fitness room with Life Fitness cardio and a free-weight bench. The property's competitive advantage is the meetings programme: roughly 11,000 square feet of function space across nine rooms, the largest holding 500 reception or 280 banquet, the smallest sized for board-style meetings of ten to twelve. Free surface parking is the other quiet draw in this corridor, the WiFi is free and stable, and the staff lean professional and unflashy in the Four Points house style.

Best Occasion Fit

Business

For a south Edmonton meeting that needs eleven thousand square feet of properly equipped function space without paying the JW Marriott downtown rate, the Four Points is the cleanest booking in the corridor. The Whitemud Drive access reaches Mill Woods, Sherwood Park, and the Strathcona industrial parks within twelve minutes; free parking handles the visiting delegate fleet; and Argyll Public House handles the meeting-day lunch buffet without a separate venue charge. Marriott Bonvoy members get late checkout and a welcome bonus on most stays.

Family Holiday

Two-queen rooms with a sofa-bed corner give a family of five a workable footprint, the indoor pool covers the cold winter afternoon, and the south-side Whyte Avenue strip is twelve minutes by car for the family dinner. Telus World of Science is fifteen minutes north on Calgary Trail; the Muttart Conservatory is fourteen; and West Edmonton Mall is twenty minutes west on Whitemud. Free parking and free WiFi keep the booking simple, and the breakfast pricing is reasonable for the format.
