A 124-room 5-star in a Haussmannian on rue Beaujon — Andrée Putman interiors, parquet de Versailles flooring, 18th-century Turgot map of Paris cushion programme, 450 metres from the Arc de Triomphe and one métro stop from the Champs-Élysées.

#22 in Paris
Business Anniversary Honeymoon Five-Star

"The Andrée Putman Sofitel that the Champs-Élysées corridor pretends not to know about — 450 metres from the Arc de Triomphe, half the rate of the palace neighbours, and the only Sofitel five-star in Paris where the design brief outranks the brand template."

The Hotel

The Sofitel Paris Arc de Triomphe occupies a Haussmannian block on rue Beaujon, a quiet residential street running parallel to the Champs-Élysées just behind the Salle Pleyel. The interior brief was given to Andrée Putman — the late doyenne of French design and the figure responsible for Morgans Hotel in New York and the Concorde aircraft cabin — whose Paris atelier (now Studio Putman, run by her daughter Olivia) delivered an interior that holds the property apart from the Sofitel template. The conceit borrows from the traditional Parisian apartment: parquet de Versailles flooring throughout the rooms, library-style millwork, custom cushions printed with the 1739 Turgot maps of Paris, and a colour register of greys, ivory, charcoal, and brushed gold accents.

There are 124 rooms and suites — including 23 suites — across six floors, in five categories. Standard rooms run a generous 28–32 square metres, larger than typical for Paris five-stars; the Junior Suites and Prestige Suites step up to 40 and 60 square metres respectively. The named Suite Étoile is the property's signature unit, a 110-square-metre top-floor space with a private terrace looking toward the Arc de Triomphe. Bathrooms are full-marble with separate walk-in showers and freestanding tubs in suite categories. Every room ships with a Bose Bluetooth audio system, a Nespresso machine, and Balmain-branded toiletries — Sofitel's standard luxury amenity programme calibrated to the Putman aesthetic.

Restaurant Akasha is the hotel's contemporary French dining room under chef Cécile Boumbé; the bar — Le Bar Akasha — handles cocktails in a Putman-designed library setting that reads as the most literary hotel bar on the Champs-Élysées corridor. The 800-square-metre Akasha Holistic Wellbeing spa runs an indoor 17-metre swimming pool, sauna, hammam, and 6 treatment rooms; the spa's Carita-affiliated programme is one of the more serious in the 8th arrondissement. The fitness club operates 24 hours; in-room yoga and massage are reflexively arrangeable through the concierge desk.

The position is the property's quiet advantage. The Arc de Triomphe is 450 metres on foot — visible from the upper-floor rooms and the Suite Étoile — but the rue Beaujon address is residential, low-traffic, and free of the Champs-Élysées bachelor-party noise that the avenue carries on summer weekends. The Salle Pleyel is two minutes; Métro Charles de Gaulle – Étoile is four minutes; the Champs-Élysées descends from there. For business travellers calibrated to the 8th arrondissement and the Champs-Élysées corridor, the Sofitel is the most useful design-led five-star at the price point — and the Putman-curated lobby is one of the more intelligent first impressions in Paris.

Best Occasion Fit

Business

For business stays calibrated to the Champs-Élysées corridor — luxury, fashion, advertising, M&A — the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe is the most useful five-star at the price point. The rue Beaujon address is the quiet residential alternative to the Champs avenue noise; Akasha at lunch handles the working-deal table; the spa handles the post-flight recovery; the Bonvoy / ALL programme integration suits frequent travellers.

Anniversary

For an Arc-de-Triomphe-corridor anniversary at half the rate of the palace neighbours, the Sofitel is the right calibration. The Suite Étoile at the milestone tier; a Prestige Suite for the calibrated weekend; dinner at Akasha; the 17-metre indoor pool the morning after; the Arc de Triomphe seven minutes for the after-dinner walk. A more design-literate Paris register than the standard palace template.

Honeymoon

Honeymoon Paris stays at the Sofitel work for the couple whose register is more Andrée Putman than Jacques Garcia. The Suite Étoile with private terrace looking toward the Arc de Triomphe; the indoor pool open until 10pm; the Akasha spa for the morning after; the Salle Pleyel two minutes for the evening concert. A quieter, more contemporary register than the historic palace template.
