The Peninsula Tokyo opened on 1 September 2007 — a 24-storey granite tower facing the Imperial Palace gardens, on the corner where Marunouchi meets Yurakucho and Hibiya. The location is the strongest in central Tokyo: the Imperial Palace gardens are a five-minute walk west; Ginza is a six-minute walk east; the Imperial Theatre is across the street.
