Esperanza opened in 2002 on a private cove at Punta Ballena on Cabo's Pacific corridor — the kilometer-long stretch of Sea of Cortez coastline between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas — as the Mexico flagship of the Auberge Resorts Collection.
