A two-minute walk from the Piazzetta. Fifty-three rooms in saturated Mediterranean colour by Giampiero Panepinto. The Tiberio Spa, and the only kosher restaurant on the island.
"Two minutes from the Piazzetta, with rooms that look like Mediterranean still-lifes and a kosher kitchen no other Capri five-star can match."
Capri Tiberio Palace stands at Via Croce 11-15, a two-minute walk from the Piazzetta and the boutiques of Via Camerelle, on the elevated approach into Capri Town from the funicular. The property is a five-star design hotel in a building that previously operated under a more conventional grand-hotel format; the current iteration was relaunched in 2010 under the Comparone family with a comprehensive interior rework by Italian designer Giampiero Panepinto. Where most Capri hotels stay neutral — whitewashed walls, pale fabrics — Tiberio Palace went the other direction, deliberately, into saturated dusty blue, turquoise, saffron yellow, neutral and coral, with patterned tile floors and curated objects in every room.
There are 53 rooms and suites. Almost all have private balconies; the higher categories face the Mediterranean across the white roofs of Capri's case capresi, and the lower categories face inland gardens. Each room contains items selected by Panepinto specifically for it — a glass collection, a stack of antique books, a Capri-pottery bowl — so no two rooms feel like duplicates. The signature suites have separate living areas and the Capri Suite has its own private terrace with hot tub and sea view.
The dining programme has two distinct kitchens. Terrazza Tiberio is the main restaurant, contemporary Mediterranean with strong Capri-island sourcing, dinner served on the panoramic terrace from May. Jacky Bar is the lounge for cocktails and lighter evenings. The kosher restaurant — overseen by certifying rabbis and the only fully kosher five-star kitchen in Capri — runs on dedicated equipment with separate kitchens for meat and dairy. The kosher offering attracts observant guests from across Europe, Israel, and the United States and is the property's most distinctive operational feature.
The Tiberio Spa runs 350 m² across treatment rooms, sauna, hammam, and a small heated pool — modest by Anacapri standards but generous for an in-town five-star. The outdoor pool deck on the rooftop has loungers, bar service, and one of the better sunset views in Capri Town. The location — two minutes uphill from the Piazzetta and the Via Camerelle shopping street — is the right answer for couples who want walking access to the social heart of the island, without booking a hotel directly on the Piazzetta itself. For honeymooners who want to spend evenings in town and afternoons at the spa, Tiberio is the most balanced choice in Capri Town.
The Capri Town honeymoon for couples who want to walk to the Piazzetta in two minutes and back to the spa in five. Book a Sea View Suite or higher — the lower categories face inland. Dinner at Terrazza Tiberio on the terrace, an afternoon at the rooftop pool, and a Faraglioni walk via Via Tragara are the three days the staff defaults to.
The Panepinto-designed signature suites and the in-town location make this a strong anniversary stay for couples who want to walk to dinner, late-night cocktails, and morning espressos at Caffè Caso without taxi planning. The Capri Suite's private terrace handles the special-night programme without leaving the room.
The Tiberio Spa is the strongest in-town spa in Capri — Anacapri's Capri Palace Medical Spa is more comprehensive but isolates guests from the Piazzetta. For couples who want spa mornings and town evenings rather than a full retreat, Tiberio is the right balance.
