The Henderson opened in 2016 as Destin's first true luxury resort and remains the only AAA Five-Diamond hotel on the Florida Panhandle from New Orleans through Sarasota. The 30-acre property is pressed against the eastern boundary of Henderson Beach State Park, which guarantees that the sugar-white sand and protected dune to the east will never be built; the resort's southern boundary is the Gulf itself. The architecture is a contemporary reading of the Florida vernacular, gabled white-clapboard towers with deep porches and aqua trim, set inside a landscape of native pines and palmetto.
The 170 rooms and suites are arranged across the main building and the adjacent Henderson Park Inn wings.
