Estrimont Suites & Spa sits at the foot of Mont Orford, twelve minutes by car from the village of Magog and three kilometres from the base lodge of the Mont Orford ski resort. The property opened in the 1980s as a condominium hotel and has been operated as an all-suites property since, more recently as part of the Origine Hôtels consortium and Hôtellerie Champêtre group. The building is the most architecturally muted of the Mont Orford hotels, a series of low cedar-clad wings stepped down the hill, with rooms organised around a central lodge that holds the reception, the restaurant, and the indoor pool.
All 95 units are full suites, which is the property's defining feature in a region where most hotels run a mix of rooms and suites. Each measures roughly 36 to 48 square metres, includes a king bed, a wood-burning or gas fireplace, a galley kitchenette with a small fridge, a microwave, dishware, and a coffee maker, a separate sitting area, and a private balcony with forest or mountain views. The interior package has been refreshed in waves between 2018 and 2023 in a contemporary Quebec country palette: matte oak, charcoal carpet, cream linens, and a single accent wall of locally-milled timber. The footprint and the kitchenette make the suites well-suited to a long ski weekend or a family of four.
The spa is the second pillar of the offer. A Scandinavian-style outdoor circuit was built into the wooded slope below the main building in 2017 and is the property's most photographed feature. It includes hot pools at three temperatures, a Finnish sauna, a Turkish steam grotto, and a cold-water plunge fed by a brook running off Mont Orford. Treatment rooms run inside the main lodge with a six-massage menu and signature couples treatments. The kitchen runs the Restaurant Boléro on Quebec country cuisine with a Townships wine list, and a casual lounge with a daily après-ski card in winter. Breakfast is included in higher rate classes.
The location is the third reason to book. Mont Orford is one of Quebec's most varied ski mountains for intermediate skiers and runs cross-country trails directly past the hotel. In summer, Lake Memphrémagog beaches and the Magog wine route open up; Magog itself, ten minutes by car, is the largest town in the western Townships and supplies the dining and shopping that an all-suites property does not. Service is professional rather than personal at the scale of the hotel, but the operating consistency over the past five years has lifted Estrimont to the top of the all-suites segment in the region.
Estrimont is the strongest family booking on Mont Orford. The all-suite footprint with a kitchenette and a separate sitting area absorbs the rhythm of a family ski weekend cleanly; the indoor pool and the Nordic outdoor spa give an evening structure; and the location gets a family to the Orford lift line in under ten minutes. Book a two-bedroom suite for a family of four.
For a quiet ski-week anniversary at the most economical end of the regional luxury market, Estrimont gives a couple a fireplace suite, the outdoor Nordic spa as the evening anchor, and dinner at Restaurant Boléro. Best booked mid-week in February or for fall colour weekends in early October.
