Muir occupies the anchor position on Queen's Marque, the C$200 million mixed-use waterfront district developed by the Armour Group on the Halifax harbour boardwalk. The hotel opened in summer 2022, the property took an immediate Luxury Collection flag, and the building itself was designed by MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects in a deliberate Maritime modernism vocabulary: copper cladding patinated to read like ship's plating, ash floors, and a public ground floor that operates as part of the city's waterfront promenade rather than a hotel lobby.
