Castell Son Claret occupies a restored medieval castle and its surrounding 326-acre private estate in the Tramuntana mountain foothills near Es Capdellà — fifteen minutes from Palma — with Mallorca's only luxury hotel inside an actual medieval castle structure. The castle's earliest documented stones date from the 13th century, with the main tower-and-courtyard structure built between the 14th and 16th centuries; the property was acquired and restored by the current owners and opened as a Relais & Châteaux luxury hotel in 2013.
The 38 rooms split between the original Castle accommodations (with restored stone walls, original beamed ceilings, and the medieval tower architecture preserved), the more contemporary Villa accommodations (in the modern building added to the estate), and the smaller cottage-style rooms in the converted farm outbuildings. The Royal Castle Suites — in the original 14th-century tower — are the property's flagship category. Every room retains original architectural features.
