Mallorca's honeymoon options span Tramuntana mountain villages, fortress-clifftops, and Bay of Palma resorts. Belmond La Residencia in Deià is the romantic flagship — 67 rooms in 16th-century manor houses at the foot of the Tramuntana, the village made famous by Robert Graves. Cap Rocat is the more dramatic alternative — 30 rooms in a restored 19th-century military fortress on cliffs above the Bay of Palma. Castell Son Claret delivers the country-castle experience with two Michelin stars at Zaranda.
All Honeymoon Hotels →Mallorca's family infrastructure runs through the Cap Vermell estate and the major Bay of Palma resorts. The St. Regis Mardavall with butler service across 134 rooms and three pools is the most polished family-luxury choice. Park Hyatt Mallorca on Cap Vermell offers the modern resort with golf and full kids' programming. Cap Vermell Grand Hotel next door delivers the same estate's family infrastructure at a more accessible price.
All Family Hotels →Belmond's Mallorca flagship in Deià — 67 rooms in restored 16th-century manor houses with two pools and Robert Graves's village as the setting. The most refined address in the Balearics.
30 rooms in a 19th-century military fortress on cliffs above the Bay of Palma. Three pools, a private cove, and the most architecturally striking hotel in the Balearics.
St Regis butler service across 134 rooms near Palma. Three pools, six restaurants, and the most family-friendly luxury option in Mallorca. Beachside, with private boat to the harbour.
38 rooms across a 17th-century castle on 326 hectares. Two Michelin stars at Zaranda. The most architecturally serious country-estate hotel in Spain.
142 rooms on Cap Vermell estate in eastern Mallorca. Three pools, golf, full spa, and modern resort infrastructure that the historic country hotels can't match.

May, June, and September are Mallorca at its best — pool weather, sea temperatures swimming-warm, all hotels open, restaurants at full capacity, and rates 25–35% below July–August peak. The almond blossom in February is extraordinary and many hotels remain open with reduced rates. November–March is shoulder/closed for many of the country estates; the cities and major resorts (St Regis, Park Hyatt) operate year-round. July and August are hot, busy with German and British holidaymakers, and characterised by full restaurants requiring 7-day-ahead booking.
Deià and the Tramuntana on the western coast is the most photographed Mallorcan landscape — the UNESCO mountain range with stone villages and pine-clad cliffs. Belmond La Residencia is here. Sóller and Port de Sóller in the same region offer the seaside-Tramuntana version — Bikini Hotel. Bay of Palma is the Costa d'en Blanes / Cas Català coastal cluster near the capital — St Regis Mardavall, Hospes Maricel, and Cap Rocat. Palma itself is the urban centre — Es Príncep. Eastern Mallorca (Canyamel, Cala d'Or) holds the Cap Vermell estate. Northern Mallorca (Pollença) is quieter — Son Brull.
Mallorca's top tier runs €700–€1,200 per night in peak — Belmond La Residencia and Cap Rocat reach €1,000+. Mid-tier runs €400–€700. Shoulder pricing (May, October) is 25–35% lower. Half-board is offered at most country estates and is good value. Restaurant pricing is considerably lower than mainland Mediterranean — €60–€150 per person at the major Michelin tables. Rental car for any non-Palma stay is essentially required and adds €50–€80/day.
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is the entry point — 15 minutes from Palma centre, 45 minutes from Deià, 60 minutes from Pollença or Canyamel. Transfers from PMI run €60–€150 each way to the major luxury hotels. Within Mallorca, a rental car is the right answer for any trip more than two nights — the country properties are not connected by public transport. The Tramuntana mountain road (MA-10) is one of Europe's most scenic drives. Ferries from Barcelona (8 hours overnight) and Valencia (8 hours overnight) are options for travelers bringing a car.
Book Belmond La Residencia, Cap Rocat, and Castell Son Claret 5–6 months ahead for May–September. The St Regis Mardavall and Park Hyatt are easier with 3–4 months. Cancellation windows are 30 days at most properties. Half-board is recommended at country estates. Spanish tipping is light — service is included; rounding up is appropriate. Most hotel restaurants are smart casual; jacket recommended at the Michelin-starred restaurants.
