The location requires honesty. Sainte-Foy is not Old Quebec, and it never will be — the cobblestones, the city walls, and the river views of the Frontenac are a fifteen-minute drive away. What Bonne Entente offers in exchange is parking, quiet, full-scale wellness facilities, golf and ski access, and a pool that small children can actually use. For families with young kids, for couples on a wellness reset, and for anyone who prefers a calm suburb to the foot traffic of the walled city, the trade is worth it. The hotel runs a regular shuttle into Vieux-Quebec, which removes most of the friction.
Bonne Entente is the family hotel for Quebec City — there is genuinely no real competition in the area. Le Mansion is overkill for a family with under-tens, but the standard wing's quad rooms are well-designed, the kitchen accommodates fussy eaters, and the staff handle children with the calm competence of a property that has hosted four generations of them.
For a wellness reset, Bonne Entente outperforms every competitor in greater Quebec City. AmeriSpa Bonne Entente is the real article — Nordic baths, properly hot saunas, a cold plunge that actually plunges, and treatment therapists who do not rush. Book a two-day stay in Le Mansion, schedule a morning thermal circuit and an afternoon massage, eat lightly at Distrikt, and walk the cross-country ski trails or summer gardens between sessions. This is a hotel that respects the wellness use case rather than treating it as an upsell.
For a quieter anniversary — a milestone marked by a long weekend rather than a big production — Le Mansion is the right room. A private check-in, a dedicated lounge, the AmeriSpa thermal circuit in the late afternoon, and dinner at Saine Grilladerie with a Quebec wine pairing. Couples who don't want the bustle of the Frontenac, but still want the sense of being looked after, find Bonne Entente delivers exactly that — without the price tag of the city's headline addresses, and with a spa the Frontenac cannot match.
