Sixty-seven rooms in Anacapri, two Michelin stars at L'Olivo, Patricia Urquiola suites, and the Capri Medical Spa that defined wellness on the island.
"The higher-altitude version of Capri, with two Michelin stars at L'Olivo and a medical spa that takes itself as seriously as the kitchen."
Capri Palace sits in Anacapri — the higher, quieter, less photographed of the island's two towns — at Via Capodimonte 14, a few steps from the Anacapri piazza and the chairlift up to Monte Solaro. The property has been a Jumeirah hotel since 2019, and the management transition has refined what was already the most ambitious five-star on the island. The 67 rooms and suites are split between Classic, Junior Suite, Deluxe Suite, and signature suites named after celebrities who have stayed — the Paltrow Presidential Suite is the most requested. Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola redesigned several of the signature suites; the rest are by Francesco della Femina in restrained Mediterranean palette.
L'Olivo holds two Michelin stars under chef Andrea Migliaccio of Ischia. The dining room is a vaulted cellar with chandeliers — formal, hushed, jacket-and-collar — and the cuisine is contemporary Mediterranean with the discipline of a kitchen that has held two stars for over a decade. Il Riccio, the beach club, is a separate Michelin-starred operation on the rocks below at Marina Piccola — guests get reservation priority and shuttle access. Zuma Capri, the rooftop arrival of the global Zuma brand, runs through summer with sunset DJ programming. Il Ragù serves the casual lunch the other restaurants don't.
The Capri Medical Spa is the property's quiet differentiator. It is run as a medical clinic rather than a hotel spa — registered nutritionists, physiotherapists, and dermatologists oversee programmes that range from leg-vein circulation therapy to medically supervised detox. Most guests only encounter the standard treatment menu, but the medical reputation is why the spa is booked solid in May and September. The pool deck has white columns, white sun loungers, and white drapery — the famous photograph of the property — and a small pool that is short on swimming distance but unmatched in the Instagram economy.
Capri Palace is a seasonal property: open April through October. The location in Anacapri trades the Piazzetta nightlife of Capri Town for quieter mornings, more dramatic views toward the Bay of Naples, and a 15-minute taxi or bus to the centre. For honeymooners and wellness travellers who came for the spa and the food, this is the right side of the island. For couples who want to walk to the Piazzetta after dinner without a taxi, Quisisana or Tiberio Palace are the alternatives.
The Anacapri honeymoon is the slower-paced one. Book a Junior Suite with Bay of Naples view. Have one dinner at L'Olivo (book on arrival), one lunch at Il Riccio with the boat shuttle from Marina Piccola, and one full spa day. The white pool deck and Mount Solaro chairlift sunset are the two photographs guests bring home.
The Capri Medical Spa is the only medically supervised spa programme on the island. Five-day Detox, Leg School, and Anti-Aging programmes are the property's signature offerings — book a minimum of five nights to get value from the protocol. Mid-May and mid-September are the quietest weeks for spa-focused stays.
L'Olivo handles milestone dinners with the discipline of a two-star kitchen — request the chef's table or a corner table with Mediterranean view. The Paltrow Presidential or one of the other Patricia Urquiola signature suites is the right room for a major anniversary; the smaller Junior Suites work for everything else.
