Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa opened in November 2016 as Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' only Caribbean property — Kimpton (the IHG-owned boutique-luxury-hotel brand with 80+ properties across the United States, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and the Netherlands) committed to the Cayman Islands as its sole Caribbean market and built the 266-key beachfront flagship on Seven Mile Beach's southern stretch. The property's location is structurally distinct from the larger Ritz-Carlton at the northern Seven-Mile-Beach corridor — Kimpton Seafire is at the quieter southern stretch, on a 5-acre property with 366 feet of direct beachfront and the Tanager Way residential approach.

The 266 keys are spread across a contemporary 6-storey beachfront tower. Categories run from entry-tier Two Queen Rooms (35 sqm) through King Suites (50 sqm with sitting area) to multi-bedroom Suites (75-150 sqm) and the named Skybox Suite (200 sqm — the property's milestone unit, top-floor with private rooftop terrace and direct Seven-Mile-Beach sightline). Operationally Kimpton Seafire runs three restaurants. Avecita by José Andrés (the Spanish-American chef's only Caribbean tapas-and-Spanish-cuisine restaurant) is the property's signature dinner programme; Coccoloba is the Mexican-Caribbean lunch-and-cocktail venue; the Lobby Lounge runs the property's afternoon-tea-and-cocktail register. The 12,000-sqft Spa Seafire (the property's signature spa with 10 treatment rooms), the three outdoor pools (a quiet adult pool, a family pool, and the beachfront pool), and the structured kids' programme close the operational brief. The Kimpton brand's signature evening Wine Hour (complimentary wine reception every evening, structurally part of the rate) is the property's daily-routine signature.

What gives Kimpton Seafire the considered Cayman Islands position is the contemporary-Kimpton register at the smaller scale compared to the Ritz-Carlton flagship. The 266-key footprint is mid-scale (smaller than the Ritz-Carlton's 365); Kimpton's only-Caribbean-property status gives the brand-loyalty-driven booking segment a structural anchor; and the southern Seven-Mile-Beach position is structurally quieter than the busier northern corridor.
