On Talamanca beach — 152 rooms, the brand's full-format Nobu Restaurant, garden suites with private pools, and the most polished Ibiza luxury proposition that is still ten minutes from Pacha, Lío and Ibiza Town's nightlife.
"The most polished luxury proposition close to the Ibiza nightlife — 152 rooms on Talamanca beach with the brand's full-format Nobu Restaurant, garden suites with private pools, and the easiest hotel from which to combine a serious Ibiza beach day with a Pacha or Lío evening."
Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay opened in May 2017 as the conversion of an existing four-star property on Talamanca beach into the brand's first European resort hotel. The site sits at the end of a horseshoe bay with a flat sandy beach directly across the road, ten minutes by taxi from Ibiza Old Town and the marina, and roughly fifteen minutes from the airport. Operations are by the Spanish hotelier Abel Matutes Prats's Palladium Hotel Group under licence from Nobu Hospitality (the partnership of Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper). The architecture is whitewashed Mediterranean low-rise; interiors were designed by the London-based Studio MunarQ in the brand's signature warm-minimalist palette of bleached oak, natural linen, and dark stone.
The 152 keys are arranged across three buildings around the pool gardens; categories run from Bay View Rooms (35sqm with garden or partial-bay view) through Junior Suites and Family Suites to the headline Garden Suites, which add a private terrace and a small private plunge pool, and the two-bedroom Beach Houses on the seafront. The Royal Suite is the top corner unit on the third floor with a 200sqm wraparound terrace and direct sea view. Standard room finishes are above category — the linen is heavy, the bathrooms run to a properly proportioned freestanding tub plus separate shower, and the in-room minibar includes the brand's signature snacks. Every room received a soft refurbishment in 2023.
Dining is the property's loudest proposition. Nobu Restaurant Ibiza is the full-format brand restaurant — Matsuhisa's Japanese-Peruvian fusion menu in the version that the brand operates in Malibu, Mayfair and the Hamptons, with the signature black cod miso, yellowtail jalapeño and tiradito. Peyotito is the Mexican-fusion alternative; the Chambao beach pop-up runs in season; Sunset Lounge is the daily DJ-led aperitivo room. The pool gardens contain three pools (one adults-only) and a Six Senses-managed wellness pavilion that runs yoga, sound healing, and a slate of private treatments. Service is properly trained at the brand's standard.
The position is the second proposition: Talamanca is the most luxury-dense beach on the island and ten minutes from Pacha and the Marina Botafoch nightlife cluster. For travelers who want the Ibiza nightlife as a lit-up evening backdrop without staying inside it, the Nobu Bay is the right answer. The trade-off versus Six Senses Ibiza on the northern coast is whether the buyer wants the noise close enough to walk to or whether they want the full forty-minute distance. For most luxury Ibiza travelers, Nobu Bay is the more practical answer; for serious wellness travelers, Six Senses is. Within Ibiza luxury, the most balanced proposition.
For Ibiza honeymoons that want the island in full — beach by day, Lío or Pacha by night — Nobu Bay is the cleanest answer. Garden Suites with private plunge pools are the central honeymoon booking; the Royal Suite or a Beach House for the milestone version. The Nobu Restaurant on the property handles the formal dinner, the concierge runs the strongest Ibiza Town restaurant book, and the position makes the day-trip to Formentera a 30-minute boat away.
For the upmarket bachelor/ette trip, Nobu Bay is the most refined option in Ibiza. The position next to Pacha, Lío, Hï and the Marina Botafoch boat-charter cluster makes the logistics easy; the Garden Suites give groups the privacy they need; the Nobu Restaurant is the obvious group dinner. More polished than ME Ibiza and Pikes, less party-on-property than either.
A milestone anniversary in Ibiza at Nobu Bay can be configured cleanly — Garden Suite or Beach House for the room, the Nobu Restaurant for the marquee dinner, the Six Senses-managed spa pavilion for the day, and a private boat from the property's beach for the day at Formentera. The 2023 refurbishment brought the rooms current. Evening flexibility is the property's main advantage versus the more remote Ibiza luxury options.
