A 181-room Raffles flagship at the Zorlu Center, opened September 2014 — Raffles' first European property and the brand's largest spa outside Asia, with floor-to-ceiling Bosphorus and Princes' Islands views.
"The Singapore Sling on the Bosphorus. A 181-room Raffles built into a luxury shopping centre is unusual; what saves the building is the orientation — every public space points at the strait, and the spa is the largest the brand operates outside Asia."
Raffles Istanbul opened on 1 September 2014 as Raffles' first property in Europe and the largest in the Raffles network at the time of opening. The address — Zorlu Center, Levazım Mahallesi, Koru Sokağı 2, Beşiktaş — sits on a ridge above the European Bosphorus shore, immediately above Etiler and three minutes by car from the financial district at Levent. The hotel occupies the upper 17 floors of one of Zorlu's mixed-use towers; the lower floors of the same complex hold Istanbul's most considered luxury shopping mall (Christian Louboutin, Bottega Veneta, Loewe, Vakko) and the Zorlu PSM performing-arts centre. The hotel reception is a dedicated tower lobby with private lift access — guests do not enter through the mall.
The 181 rooms (including 49 suites) are oriented south and east toward the Bosphorus, the Marmara Sea, and — on clear days — the Princes' Islands. Standard rooms run a generous 50 square metres; the Bosphorus View category at 56 square metres is the room booked for the address. Suites range from the 90-square-metre State Suite to the 350-square-metre Presidential Suite on the top floor, the latter with a private terrace, a separate dining room for 12, and a panorama that includes both Bosphorus bridges. The architecture — Tabanlıoğlu Architects, the Istanbul-based firm responsible for the broader Zorlu complex — is contemporary tower with floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout. Interior design by HBA references Ottoman pattern restrained for a 21st-century Raffles.
Raffles Spa runs to 3,000 square metres — the brand's largest outside Asia at opening and still among the largest in Europe. The wellness floor includes a 20-metre indoor pool, a Turkish hammam, a salt-water flotation room, vitality pool, ice fountain, snow room, and 12 treatment rooms including couple suites with private hammam. Long Bar — the property's homage to the original Raffles Long Bar in Singapore — serves the original 1915 Singapore Sling recipe alongside Turkish-coffee infused variants. Arola Istanbul is the Sergi Arola Spanish restaurant on the dining floor; Rocca handles the all-day Mediterranean room with Bosphorus views; the rooftop pool deck is open seasonally May–October.
The market position is clear: this is the Bosphorus-view tower hotel for guests who want a Raffles, who want significantly larger rooms than the brand-comparable competition, and who are happy to stay 15 minutes north of Taksim and the Bosphorus waterside. The luxury shopping inside the building is the hotel-within-a-mall trade-off in active reverse — for many guests it is the deciding amenity. The spa is the most decorated in Istanbul. The Long Bar is the only Raffles Long Bar in Europe. The financial district at Levent is three minutes by car. For Bosphorus-view stays where neither Çırağan nor Four Seasons Bosphorus is available — and for guests who prefer a contemporary tower over a heritage palace — this is the answer.
A Bosphorus-view anniversary at a price-point below Çırağan or Four Seasons Bosphorus. Book a Bosphorus View Room or a Bosphorus Suite — at 56 and 90 square metres respectively, both are larger than the comparable Bosphorus-shore competition. Long Bar for the Singapore Sling on arrival; Arola for dinner; Raffles Spa couples' suite the next morning.
The 3,000-square-metre Raffles Spa is the most considered wellness facility in any Istanbul hotel — the salt-water flotation room, the snow room, the ice fountain, the 20-metre pool, and the dedicated hammam circuit are unusual at Istanbul scale. Book a Bosphorus View Room and a 3-day spa programme; meals served from the spa kitchen on a clean-eating brief by request.
Three minutes by car to Levent is decisive for financial-services and corporate stays. The meeting facilities run to a 1,200-square-metre ballroom; 11 additional meeting rooms handle satellite work. The Raffles brand standard is consistent with what international financial clients expect; the Long Bar is a usable evening venue without leaving the building.
