The Hotel

Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur opened in 2025 as the first heritage-city property of the Anantara brand in India and as Minor Hotels' principal Jaipur statement. The development is a purpose-built palace-style hotel on Tonk Road in the southern suburb of Bilwa, set behind a long entrance driveway and arranged around two courtyards in a sequence that reads as a contemporary interpretation of a Rajput haveli rather than a literal pastiche. Architecturally the building draws on Mughal symmetry — arched verandas, jali screens, chhatri cupolas, ochre stone — but the interiors are a more restrained contemporary register, with hand-knotted Rajasthan wool carpets, low-profile carved-wood furniture, and copper and brass detailing throughout. The property is the largest new five-star opening in Jaipur in roughly fifteen years.

The 150 rooms and suites are arranged across six categories. The entry-level Premier Room is 33 square metres — the smallest category in the property but generously sized by Indian-five-star standards — with a king bed, a freestanding tub, and a private balcony overlooking either the courtyard or the gardens. Premier Pool View, Deluxe, and Deluxe Pool View categories step up in size and outlook; the Anantara Suite (one-bedroom, around 65 sqm) is the inventory's working honeymoon and anniversary unit, with a separate sitting room and a soaking tub positioned at the window. The Presidential Two-Bedroom Suite at 173 square metres is the headline inventory — two en-suite bedrooms, a full sitting and dining room, and a private open-air rooftop terrace with seating area and private plunge jacuzzi, the only category in Jaipur with that specific configuration outside the Rajmahal Palace's named royal apartments.

The food-and-beverage programme runs across three rooms and a wellness pavilion. Pataudi is the all-day Indian and Rajasthani restaurant, named for the Pataudi cricket-and-royalty lineage and operating around a central tandoor station with regional menus that rotate by season — the laal maas, dal baati churma, and gatte ki sabji are the signatures. Tonino's is the property's contemporary European room, leaning Italian, with a wood oven and an open kitchen visible from the dining floor. The pool bar functions as a daytime light-meals venue and as the property's evening cocktail room, with a programmed sunset hour every day during the October-to-March cool season. The Anantara Spa is the brand's standard pavilion programme adapted for India — eight treatment rooms, an Ayurvedic consultation suite with a resident vaidya during the high season, and a hammam.

The property's position is its most legible compromise: Tonk Road in Bilwa is twenty minutes from the Pink City walls (the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar) and roughly fifteen minutes from Jaipur International Airport, which puts the hotel firmly in the airport-and-business-district orbit rather than the heritage-quarter one. For travellers whose Jaipur day is built around short city visits and longer pool-and-spa returns, Tonk Road is the right answer; for travellers who want to walk into the Old City from the door, the Rambagh, the Rajmahal, or the Samode Haveli are the better-positioned addresses. The 25-metre outdoor pool, the Kids Club, and the family-suite inventory make Anantara the strongest Jaipur option in the family-holiday brief.
