Manteo opens in 1998 on a generous parcel of Okanagan Lake shoreline next door to Hotel Eldorado in the South Pandosy neighbourhood. The two properties operate as a single resort campus under the Eldorado Resort name, with a shared check-in option, shared beach, shared marina, and a continuous boardwalk between them. Where the Eldorado is the heritage building and the romantic verandah, the Manteo is the larger, more straightforwardly resort-functional sibling. The architectural language is Mediterranean, ochre stucco, terracotta tile, deep colonnades, with the public spaces opening to a long landscaped lawn and the water beyond.
The 102 keys break across three categories. Deluxe Guestrooms in the main building are conventional hotel rooms running 30 to 38 square metres with lake or garden orientation; the upper categories upgrade to balcony and view. The Premium One and Two Bedroom Suites, also in the main building, add living rooms, fireplaces, and full kitchens. The signature room product is the Private Villas, twenty-one detached two and three bedroom buildings ranged along the south end of the property with private patios, gas fireplaces, full kitchens, in-suite washer and dryer units, and individual entrances. The three-bedroom villas, at roughly 150 square metres, are the largest single-key accommodations on Okanagan Lake.
The amenity stack is shared with Hotel Eldorado but headquartered at Manteo. Two outdoor seasonal pools, two hot tubs, a children's play area, and a tennis court sit between the main building and the beach. The Beach Volleyball pit on the south end is the property's daily afternoon ritual. The marina handles Sea-Doo, paddleboard, kayak, pontoon boat, and wake-boat rentals through a tenant operator. The Smack DAB restaurant runs as the casual dayparter, the Lakeside Dining Room at the Eldorado handles the evening meal, and the boardwalk patio is the daytime cocktail room. The Manteo Spa, on the lower level of the main building, offers a small but properly run treatment menu with three rooms.
Weddings are the property's other significant business. The Lakefront Lawn at the south end of the campus seats up to 220 for ceremonies; the wedding office runs roughly 60 events between May and October with a combination of the lawn, the boardwalk gazebo, and a marquee tent on the back patio of the Manteo. Bridal parties take over the villa cluster, which is the resort's quiet competitive advantage: the property can accommodate a 100-guest wedding with the entire party housed on site.
Manteo is the South Pandosy family booking. Three-bedroom villas with full kitchens, two pools, a children's play area, the longest hotel-owned beach in the city, and a tennis court make a week here roughly self-sufficient. The marina handles the active programme; the boardwalk connects to South Pandosy's coffee shops and bakeries within five minutes on foot.
For an anniversary that wants a romantic verandah room a short walk away but a more spacious villa to actually sleep in, book a one-bedroom villa at Manteo and a dinner reservation at the Eldorado Lakeside Dining Room. The two-property campus lets the same booking deliver both the heritage atmosphere and the contemporary suite product.
The three-bedroom villa cluster is the Okanagan's best bachelor and bachelorette setup. Six to eight bedrooms across two adjoining villas, a private beach in front, a marina out the door, and downtown Kelowna ten minutes by Uber. Pair with a half-day on a rented wake boat and a winery dinner cruise out of the property's dock.
