Why EDITION Miami Beach for a bachelorette

The Miami Beach EDITION opened in 2014 in the restored 1955 Seville building on Mid-Beach, Ian Schrager's first Miami EDITION, and it is the rare luxury hotel where the whole bachelorette night can happen downstairs. The Basement packs a nightclub, a four-lane bowling alley and an ice-skating rink under one roof, which no other Miami Beach hotel offers, so the group's evening starts in-house instead of in a taxi line. The 294 rooms and the garden bungalows are pale, spare and Schrager-minimal, set across a 3.5-acre stretch from Collins Avenue to the sand. Dining is a genuine event: the Matador Room by Jean-Georges plates Latin-leaning food in a 1940s supper-club setting, while Tropicale runs the pool and beach club through the day. The honest trade-off is the aesthetic and the schedule; the white rooms feel austere to some, and the Basement keeps its own hours, so the party runs on the hotel's clock. Best for the group that wants to bowl, skate and dance without leaving the building.

Best room to request

An oceanfront Bungalow for a group of four with its own patio, or a higher-category Oceanfront Suite for the view.

Concierge tip

Pre-book the Basement for the Saturday club night, and take the bowling alley on Friday as the group warm-up. Reserve the Matador Room by Jean-Georges for the big dinner before the night downstairs.

The wider context

EDITION Miami Beach sits within our broader Top 20 Hotels in Miami for a Bachelorette list. It scored an aggregate 9.7/10 across the three editorial criteria, competitive against the field but, on a bachelorette-specific factors, the angle above is what earned its rank. For the alternatives in the same Miami neighbourhood, see Mid-Beach and adjacent. For a different city entirely, see the related lists below.

With dates settled, the booking window that works is about twelve weeks ahead. Suites with the prime view angle sell through first; for peak months, availability is measured in months rather than weeks. It is the terrace and plunge-pool suites, the rooms this rank rests on, that book up soonest.
