Why The Setai Miami Beach for a bachelorette

The Setai is the wellness-and-design choice on this Miami list, the calm and expensive option rather than the party one. It opened in 2004 behind the restored 1930s Art Deco tower of the old Dempsey-Vanderbilt building on Collins Avenue, and its signature is the courtyard of three pools held at three temperatures, roughly 75, 85, and 95°F, that you work through across a day. There are about 130 rooms and suites, many with ocean-facing terraces, and the service is deliberately quiet and precise in the brand's pan-Asian style. Dining is a real strength: Jaya, its pan-Asian restaurant, and the Setai Grill are among the better hotel kitchens in the city, and there is a full spa and a private beach. The honest caveat is tone and price. This is a serene, grown-up hotel, not a scene, so a group set on clubs may find it too restrained, and at $800-plus a night it is one of Miami Beach's priciest rooms. For a bachelorette that wants spa days and good food over bottle service, that restraint is the appeal.

Best room to request

An ocean-view suite with a terrace for the views, or an entry Ocean Room if the three-pool courtyard and the beach, not the square footage, are the draw.

Concierge tip

Work the three pools across the day, cool in the morning and hot at sunset, then book Jaya for the group dinner. Rooms in the Art Deco tower have the most character, while the newer tower has the larger ocean terraces.

The wider context

The Setai Miami Beach sits within our broader Top 20 Hotels in Miami for a Bachelorette list. It scored an aggregate 9.8/10 across the three editorial criteria, competitive against the field but, on a bachelorette-specific factors, the angle above is what earned its rank. For the alternatives in the same Miami neighbourhood, see South Beach (Mid-Beach edge) and adjacent. For a different city entirely, see the related lists below.

If the dates are locked in, secure the room around the three-month mark. The ocean-view suites with terraces, the rooms this ranking rests on, go earliest, and rates peak over Art Basel in December and through the winter season.
