Katikies Mykonos is the Mykonos outpost of the legendary Santorini brand, opened in 2019 in Agios Ioannis on the western (sunset-facing) side of the island, with the architecture and operating culture imported directly from the Oia flagship. Thirty-five cave-style suites cut into the cliffside, every suite with private outdoor space and most with private plunge pools, the upper-tier Pool Cave Suites with cliff-edge orientation. The asset is the Santorini-brand cave architecture translated to Mykonos, the white plaster, the cave doorways, the cinematic infinity pool that aims directly at the sunset over the Aegean. The hotel's adults-oriented policy (guests must be 13 or older) and the sunset orientation make it the right pick for the bachelorette-with-photo-shoot, the trip where one of the bridesmaids hires a photographer for the Saturday-morning sunrise shoot and the Sunday-evening sunset shoot. Katikies Mykonos is the most architecturally resolved hotel on Mykonos and the most direct competitor to Cavo Tagoo for the pool-photograph centerpiece the bachelorette shoot is built around. The Agios Ioannis location is the trade-off, 12 minutes by taxi to Mykonos Town for the late-night.
