Butler service is concierge plus. The butler is dedicated to your suite, your stay, your preferences. The good ones anticipate.

Butler etiquette
What to ask
- Routine: morning coffee, laundry, ironing, in-suite dining
- Specialised: shopping for items you forgot, restaurant bookings, private tours
- Personal: pressing clothes, packing, personal organisation
What not to ask
- Things outside the property they can't fulfill (avoid making them call concierge)
- Anything illegal or inappropriate
Tipping
$30-$100 per day for butler service. $200-$500 at end of stay for multi-day.
How to use a butler
The first 24 hours: tell the butler your preferences (coffee, breakfast time, sleep schedule, work pattern).
By Day 3: the butler knows your routine. Coffee arrives unprompted at the right time. Laundry is handled. Dinner reservations align with your evening plans.
By end of stay: the butler is part of the experience.
Five rules
- Brief preferences Day 1 — saves friction
- Single-point-of-contact butler when possible
- Tip per day, not just at end
- Treat the butler as a colleague, not a servant
- Multi-trip relationship — request the same butler for repeat stays
