The 25th anniversary is the silver milestone. The hotels here understand that and know how to mark it without staging it.
The hotels
Le Sirenuse Positano
The view, the hospitality, the sustained Italian magic. Couples who stay here remember the trip 25 years later, which is the test.
Aman Venice
Quiet luxury, palace setting, exceptional service. Suite-only, so privacy is built in.
Singita Sabi Sand
A safari for the silver — the bush at sunset, in-camp dinner under the stars.
Belmond Caruso Ravello
The garden, the pool, the panorama. Famous for romantic dinners on the terrace.
Cheval Blanc St-Barth
Beach pavilions, quiet luxury, the right level of attentiveness.
The Lanesborough London
Afternoon tea, royal-park-side, butler service that doesn't intrude.
Booking notes
Mention the anniversary at the time of booking. Most hotels will arrange a card, an in-room amenity, and a reserved dinner table without further prompting.
For full magic, a 30-minute call with the concierge two weeks before arrival is worthwhile. They will ask: surprise vs. discussed? Specific date? Dietary preferences? Champagne preference?
What the right hotel does
- Welcome amenity in-room on arrival (handwritten card, champagne, fruit)
- Special turndown on the anniversary night (rose petals, two glasses, music)
- Reserved restaurant table with a surprise course
- Late check-out the next morning
- Photo of the couple at dinner, framed and sent home
None of this is showy. All of it is competent.
Five rules
- Brief the hotel at booking, then call the concierge two weeks out
- Suite-only for privacy — the trip is about the two of you
- Off-property dinner one night, in-hotel dinner one night
- A spa together is part of the brief
- Late checkout matters
