Best Luxury Hotels in Cyprus 2026

2026 · 6 min read City Guide Fredrik Filipsson

Cyprus's luxury hotel map splits cleanly in two. The home-grown Thanos Hotels group owns the island's most coveted addresses, Anassa near Latchi and the twin Almyra and Annabelle in Paphos, while Limassol has become the international city-resort hub, led by Marriott's Parklane and the design-led Amara. One name to read carefully: the much-loved "Four Seasons" in Limassol is an independent Cypriot hotel, unrelated to the global chain.

Where are Cyprus's best luxury hotels?

In three coastal pockets. The quiet northwest around Latchi and Polis holds Anassa, the island's most prestigious resort. The west around Paphos has the Thanos twins Almyra and Annabelle, plus easy reach of UNESCO archaeological sites and the wild Akamas peninsula. And the south coast at Limassol is the international city-resort strip, where Parklane, Amara and the independent Four Seasons sit along Agios Tychonas beach within minutes of each other. Larnaca and the east coast lean more toward package resorts than top-tier luxury, so the serious five-star choices concentrate in those three areas. Whichever you choose, plan around the airports: Paphos serves the west, Larnaca serves Limassol and the east.

The Limassol cluster: the island's city-resort hub

Limassol is where Cyprus's newest luxury money has landed. Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa is the headline five-star, a 222-room Marriott resort with 34 suites, 20 villas with private pools, and the 3,000-square-metre Kalloni Spa spanning fourteen treatment rooms, which makes it the strongest all-rounder for families and spa-led stays. Next door in spirit, Amara takes the opposite, adults-leaning line: 213 sea-facing rooms under a "sea your only view" design ethos, with a serious dining roster that includes Matsuhisa Limassol, the local outpost of Nobu Matsuhisa's restaurant brand. The third Limassol name needs a clear caveat: the Four Seasons Hotel here is a genuinely well-run 290-room beachfront five-star, but it is independently owned by the Cypriot company Muskita and is not connected to the global Four Seasons group, a distinction worth knowing before you pay a "brand" premium.

Paphos and Polis: the Thanos heartland

Cyprus's home-grown Thanos Hotels owns the western coast's most desirable addresses. Anassa, near Latchi on the unspoilt northwest shore, is the group's flagship and the island's benchmark for luxury: a low-rise village set above a private bay, built around the award-winning Thalassa spa, with both family and serene adults-leaning sides. Its trade-off is its biggest asset, remoteness, so it suits travelers who want a self-contained retreat rather than a city on the doorstep. In Paphos proper, the twin Almyra and Annabelle share a seafront beside the harbour: Almyra is the cooler, design-led choice and a Design Hotels member with an adults-only spa rooftop, while Annabelle is the family-friendly twin with watersports and bigger pools. All three put you within reach of Paphos's mosaics and the Akamas, which Limassol cannot match.

When to go and how to choose

Visit in the shoulder months. May to June and September to October give you warm sea, thinner crowds and softer rates than the July-August peak, and they are the best window for the spa-and-garden resorts in particular. Be aware that some Cypriot luxury resorts run seasonally and close in deep winter, so for a November-to-March trip lean on Limassol's year-round hotels and confirm dates first. To choose: pick Limassol for dining, marina life and a livelier base; pick Paphos or Polis for calmer, scenery-first resorts and archaeology. If you are deciding between Mediterranean islands altogether, compare Cyprus with our guides to Santorini, Crete, Mykonos and Mallorca, or browse every destination on the all cities page. Frequently asked questions

Last updated June 16, 2026

Which is the best luxury hotel in Cyprus?
For most travelers it is Anassa, the flagship of Cyprus's own Thanos Hotels, set in a secluded bay near Latchi on the quiet northwest coast with the well-regarded Thalassa spa. If you want a city-resort base in Limassol instead, the Marriott-operated Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, is the strongest five-star, with 222 rooms and a 3,000-square-metre spa.
Is the Four Seasons in Limassol part of the Four Seasons chain?
No. The Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol is independently owned and operated by the Cypriot company Muskita Hotels and is not affiliated with the global Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts group. It is a genuinely well-regarded 290-room beachfront five-star in its own right, but book it knowing the name is a coincidence, not a brand guarantee.
Which Cyprus resort is best for families versus couples?
For families, Annabelle in Paphos and Parklane in Limassol both run proper kids' clubs and pools. For couples and quieter stays, Amara in Limassol leans adult and design-led with sea-only views, and Almyra in Paphos has an adults-only spa rooftop. Anassa works for both, with family wings and a serene spa side.
When is the best time to visit Cyprus for a luxury stay?
May to June and September to October are the sweet spots: warm sea, fewer crowds and lower rates than peak July and August. Several Cypriot resorts run seasonally and close in deep winter, so confirm opening dates before booking a November-to-March trip, when Limassol's year-round hotels are the safer bet.
Should I stay in Limassol or Paphos?
Choose Limassol for dining, the marina and a livelier city-resort feel, with Parklane, Amara and the independent Four Seasons clustered along Agios Tychonas beach. Choose Paphos or the Polis-Latchi area for calmer, garden-and-sea resorts such as Almyra, Annabelle and Anassa, and easier access to archaeological sites and the Akamas peninsula.
Does Cyprus have good spa resorts?
Yes. Anassa's Thalassa spa is the island's most awarded, Parklane's Kalloni Spa spans about 3,000 square metres with fourteen treatment rooms, and Amara built its spa around a preserved ancient wall. Cyprus is a strong, underrated Mediterranean wellness destination, particularly in shoulder season.
