The Hotel

Atzaró opened in 2004 as one of the first agroturismo hotels in the Balearics, the result of a fifteen-year restoration of a 17th-century finca on 50 hectares of orange and citrus groves between Santa Eulalia and San Juan in central-eastern Ibiza. The property is owned and run by the Guasch family — a Catalan-Ibizan family that has worked the land for several generations and that converted the working farm into a hotel with the central premise that the agricultural landscape, the food, and the bohemian-luxury aesthetic of older Ibiza could be the entire proposition. Twenty years later that proposition has been copied across the island and only Atzaró still does it from the original position.

The 24 rooms are spread between the main finca, the converted barns, and a small number of free-standing garden suites. Categories run from Standard Doubles in the original finca through Junior Suites and Garden Suites with private terraces to the headline Pool Suites — three free-standing buildings each with private outdoor pool, private garden, and full living-room layout. Interiors are the original bohemian-Mediterranean palette — whitewashed walls, exposed beams, hand-thrown ceramics, antique Moroccan rugs, raw linen, hand-carved wood, and a deliberately under-finished feeling that newer hotels imitate but rarely match. The hotel completed a phased refresh in 2022 that left the architecture entirely intact.

The wellness programme is the central proposition — a 1,200-square-metre spa with hammam, indoor pool, six treatment rooms, and a yoga shala that runs daily classes from sunrise. Atzaró is also the operating partner for Ibiza Yoga Festival each spring; the property's signature five-day and seven-day Atzaró Wellbeing programmes (yoga, breathwork, plant-based menu, hiking, treatment plan) are the original Ibiza retreat format. Dining is across two restaurants — the destination Atzaró Restaurant (Mediterranean-Ibizan, with much of the produce from the on-site farm) and the more casual Tea House — plus a poolside grill in season. The property's organic farm produces vegetables, fruits, eggs, and the orange juice served at breakfast.

The position — central, inland, ten minutes from Santa Eulalia and twenty minutes from Ibiza Town — is the second proposition. Atzaró is the rural-luxury answer for travelers who want quiet days, a serious wellness programme, and the option of an Ibiza Town evening when wanted, without staying inside the noise. The trade-off versus Six Senses Ibiza is that Six Senses is the contemporary brand-led version of the same idea; Atzaró is the original family-owned one, with the deeper Ibizan roots and the lower price point.
