July–October is the Great Migration peak — wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River from the Serengeti, the most dramatic wildlife event on earth. Book 9–12 months ahead. November–March is calving season in the southern Serengeti (calves move into the Mara from January). April–June is wettest but greenest with newborn animals; rates 30–40% lower.
