ARIA opened in 2009 as the centerpiece of the CityCenter development and remains the most-architecturally-resolved of the post-2008 Strip towers, Pelli Clarke & Partners designed the property, Jaume Plensa and Maya Lin contributed major sculptures, and the result is the cleanest contemporary-design Strip hotel. Four thousand and four rooms, with the Sky Suites tier on the upper 28-30 floors operating as a hotel-within-a-hotel (private check-in, private elevator, butler service). The Sky Villas (the 7,000-sqft three-bedroom flagship suites) are the most-flagship bachelor-suite product on the Strip. The asset is the venue affiliation: Jewel Nightclub is the in-house club, the ARIA pool complex includes the Sky Pool (Sky Suites only), and Catch, the Strip outpost of the New York original, handles the group dinner. ARIA suits the higher-budget bachelor group that wants contemporary design over Vegas pastiche, and the private-elevator infrastructure is what a celebrity-recognition-sensitive group is really paying for. The honest caveat: ARIA is a 4,004-room convention hotel at heart, so everything outside the Sky Suites elevator runs corporate and crowded, and the gated tier exists precisely to bypass that.
