The hotel was built in 2003 specifically as a honeymoon-only property in Imerovigli; it has been adults-only ever since and the staff has run roughly a thousand honeymoons by now. Twenty suites, two communal pools (one heated, one ambient), a sunset bar that is the hotel's social hub, and a guest-only beach club at Vlychada (the south-coast black-sand beach) twenty minutes by hotel shuttle. The suites are simpler than the higher-tier Imerovigli properties — fewer have private plunge pools, the architecture is conventional Cycladic rather than designed — but the price is two-thirds of the equivalent Grace or Cavo Tagoo room. Honeymoon Petra is the value Imerovigli pick for couples who want the cliff-side view, the adults-only property, and the honeymoon programming, without the spa-and-Michelin-star tier of the brand-name properties. It is also one of the most-recommended hotels by repeat-visit honeymoon couples — the staff is the asset, not the architecture.
