Why Hyatt Pinon Pointe for a wellness retreat

Hyatt Vacation Club at Pinon Pointe is a residence-style resort at the entrance to Uptown Sedona, and the only Hyatt-branded property in town. Accommodation runs from studios with a kitchenette to one- and two-bedroom villas with a full kitchen, a separate living room, and a balcony or patio, which makes it a practical base for families or multi-generational groups who want to cook and spread out. It sits next to The Shops at Pinon Pointe and a short walk from Tlaquepaque and the Uptown galleries, with a heated pool, hot tubs, and a tennis court on site. Book it for space, self-catering, and an in-town location near the trailheads. The honest trade-off is that this is a timeshare-style vacation club with no restaurant on site, so you cook in or walk out for every meal, and the service is more residential than full-service hotel.

Best room to request

A two-bedroom villa for a family or group that wants the full kitchen, or a studio if it is just the two of you and you mainly need a base.

Concierge tip

Stock the kitchen on arrival and cook breakfast in to save time and money on a multi-night stay. Tlaquepaque's galleries and cafes are about a five-minute walk, and the heated pool is the easy afternoon reset after a morning on the trails.

The wider context

Hyatt Pinon Pointe sits within our broader Top 20 Hotels in Sedona for a Wellness Retreat list. It scored an aggregate 9.3/10 across the three editorial criteria, competitive against the field but, on a wellness retreat-specific factors, the angle above is what earned its rank. For the alternatives in the same Sedona neighbourhood, see Uptown Sedona and adjacent. For a different city entirely, see the related lists below.

Have firm dates? Our editor's advice is to book roughly twelve weeks in advance. Expect the best-positioned suites to go early; in the busy season the lead time is months, not weeks. It is the terrace and plunge-pool suites, the rooms this rank rests on, that book up soonest.
