It opened in 1992 on the wild Anse de Toiny, on the island's remote eastern cliffs, deliberately apart from the busier St-Jean and Flamands hotels, and a 2015 change of ownership brought a full renovation. Every one of the 22 villa-suites is freestanding, with its own heated private pool and a long Atlantic view, so a couple can spend whole days without seeing another guest. Le Restaurant handles the dining, and a hotel beach club sits down at Toiny's cove, reached by shuttle. The honest trade-off is the location working both ways: the east coast is a 15-to-20-minute drive from Gustavia's shops and the main beaches, the Atlantic side is windier with a surf-pounded shore rather than a calm swimming beach, and you will want the included car to get around. Best for honeymooners who came for privacy over a walk-to-dinner scene.
