Best Hotel Openings Coming in 2027

2026 · 2 min read Hotel Trends Editorial Team
The short answer: five 2027 openings are credibly dated: Aman Niseko, Mandarin Oriental Gellert in Budapest, Six Senses Milan, Cheval Blanc Pitrizza in May and Mandarin Oriental Cairo. Several names still circulating on 2027 lists are dead or distant: Cheval Blanc Beverly Hills is cancelled, Six Senses New York became Faena New York, and Rosewood Vienna opened in 2022.

2027 openings lists age worse than any other travel content: projects die, slip or quietly open years early, and the lists never get corrected. Ours did. Every entry below was re-verified in June 2026, and the final section names what we removed from our own previous version of this page.

Which 2027 hotel openings are credibly dated?

Five projects have dates backed by brand announcements or visible construction progress. Detail on the European three lives in our Europe 2026-2027 calendar; Aman Niseko is covered in the Asia edition.

Aman Niseko (Hokkaido, targeted 2027)

Aman's fourth Japanese property and first ski and wellness resort, alone on Mount Moiwa with views to Mount Yotei, designed by the late Kerry Hill with 31 residences attached. The honest caveat: first announced for around 2023, it has slipped before and reservations are not open; treat 2027 as a target.

Mandarin Oriental Gellert, Budapest (2027)

The 1918 Gellert thermal-bath landmark rebuilt into 143 rooms and suites, with a top-floor pool under a retractable glass ceiling and a spa built around Hungary's bathing culture. The honest caveat: a gut renovation of a protected national monument; 2027 is plausible, not promised.

Six Senses Milan (2027)

The brand's Italian city debut at Via Brera 19: 68 rooms including 15 suites, interiors by Tara Bernerd. The honest caveat: earlier coverage said late 2026, so the slip has already happened once.

Cheval Blanc Pitrizza, Costa Smeralda (May 2027)

LVMH already manages Luigi Vietti's Hotel Pitrizza and about 80 percent of rooms are renovated; May 2027 marks the full rebrand, with a new spa and fine-dining restaurant to follow. The honest caveat: rates already climbed ahead of the finished product.

Mandarin Oriental Cairo (2027)

The brand's Egypt flagship in the rebuilt Shepheard Hotel on the Nile, alongside its takeover of the Old Cataract in Aswan and the Winter Palace in Luxor, both reopening through 2027. The honest caveat: three simultaneous heritage projects in one country rarely all land on schedule.

Which 2027 names are announced but undated?

The conclusion first: none of these three should anchor a trip plan yet. Aman Mexico City is a real heritage-restoration project with no confirmed opening date. Bvlgari Hotel Los Angeles was once announced for 2025 and has moved repeatedly; no bookable date exists. Como Bahamas remains announced without a published date. All three may well become 2027 or 2028 stories; book around them, not on them.

What did we remove from this list in June 2026?

Three entries from our own earlier version of this page, because an openings list that never corrects itself becomes the problem it claims to solve. Cheval Blanc Beverly Hills: cancelled after the May 2023 referendum; LVMH confirmed it is dead. Six Senses New York: the XI development stalled in 2021, sold for 900 million dollars, became One High Line, and Faena New York opened there in 2025 with 120 rooms; the Six Senses flag left the project. Rosewood Vienna: opened in 2022; it was never a 2027 story. We also do not list Rosewood Tokyo here: the Roppongi 5-Chome tower it will crown is projected for around 2030.

How do you book a 2027 opening without getting burned?

The answer in one sentence: never plan an immovable trip around a project that is not taking reservations. Watch the brand's own press page rather than listicles, expect soft-opening windows with reduced rates and unfinished facilities in the first weeks, and re-verify dates four to six weeks before committing. The nearer-term inventory is easier to judge: our verified 2026 world list, the Europe calendar and the Asia calendar all carry openings you can actually book today, and our hotel trends guide covers where the industry is heading next.

Frequently asked questions

Which luxury hotels are confirmed to open in 2027?
Five carry credible dates as of June 2026: Aman Niseko on Hokkaido's Mount Moiwa (targeted 2027), Mandarin Oriental Gellert in Budapest (143 rooms in the restored 1918 landmark), Six Senses Milan at Via Brera 19 (68 rooms), Cheval Blanc Pitrizza on the Costa Smeralda (full relaunch May 2027) and Mandarin Oriental's Cairo flagship at the rebuilt Shepheard Hotel.
Is Cheval Blanc Beverly Hills opening in 2027?
No. Beverly Hills voters rejected the project in a May 2023 referendum and LVMH confirmed it will not revive it. Any 2027 list still carrying Cheval Blanc Beverly Hills is recycling a dead project; LVMH's confirmed US-adjacent energy went into Cheval Blanc Pitrizza in Sardinia instead.
What happened to Six Senses New York?
The project died with its developer. Construction at the XI towers stalled in 2021, the site sold for 900 million dollars and was renamed One High Line, and Faena New York opened there in 2025 with 120 rooms. Six Senses' Manhattan entry is no longer happening at that site.
When does Aman Niseko open?
Aman targets 2027. The resort sits on Mount Moiwa as the mountain's only development, designed by the late Kerry Hill, with 31 Aman Residences attached; it is Aman's fourth Japanese property. The project originally aimed at 2023, and no bookable day-one date has been published yet.
Did Rosewood Vienna already open?
Yes, in 2022. It has been operating for four years and appears on stale 2027 openings lists only because old copy gets recycled. The Rosewood project actually worth watching in this window is Rosewood Tokyo, and that one is projected for around 2030, not 2027.
How should I verify a 2027 opening date before booking?
Check the hotel brand's own press page four to six weeks before you commit, not a listicle, and treat any project without open reservations as a target rather than a date. Our verified 2026 world list and the Europe and Asia regional calendars track these dates with a visible re-verification date.
