"120-condominium resort with 1-4 bedroom units, a short walk or shuttle from Aspen Mountain, the family condo flagship."
The Gant Aspen is a condominium resort of around 120 individually owned units set in a quiet five-acre enclave on the east side of downtown Aspen. The family case is simple: every unit is a full one- to four-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living area and laundry, which is exactly what a multi-generational group needs for a week on the slopes, room to spread out, space to cook breakfast, and somewhere for kids to crash early. Condos come in three tiers (Standard, Deluxe and Premier) since each is owner-decorated, and shared amenities include two heated outdoor pools, hot tubs and tennis courts, plus a concierge and a complimentary shuttle into town and to the Silver Queen gondola. The honest trade-off is that this is a condominium resort, not a full-service luxury hotel: there is no signature restaurant, spa or ski-in/ski-out access, finishes vary unit to unit because owners furnish their own, and the gondola is a short ride rather than steps away. Book it for self-catering space and value over hotel polish.
For a big group, a three- or four-bedroom Premier condo gives you the most space and the best finishes; for a single family, a two-bedroom unit is the sweet spot on price. Ask for a top-floor or pool-facing unit, and check whether the specific condo has been renovated recently, since the owner-by-owner model means quality varies.
Use the complimentary shuttle for the gondola and dinner in town rather than driving and parking. The two heated pools and hot tubs are the kids' after-ski ritual; book tennis courts and any in-condo grocery or ski-rental delivery through the concierge before you arrive.
The Gant Aspen sits within our broader Top 20 Hotels in Aspen for a Family Holiday list. It scored an aggregate 9.3/10 across the three editorial criteria, competitive against the field but, on a family holiday-specific factors, the angle above is what earned its rank. For the alternatives in the same Aspen neighbourhood, see Aspen Mountain base (east) and adjacent. For a different city entirely, see the related lists below.
Have firm dates? Our editor's advice is to book roughly twelve weeks in advance. Suites with the prime view angle sell through first; for peak months, availability is measured in months rather than weeks. It is the terrace and plunge-pool suites, the rooms this rank rests on, that book up soonest.
New openings, special offers, and the week’s best value suites. One email a week, no noise.
