Why Conrad Bora Bora Nui for a honeymoon

Conrad Bora Bora Nui opened in 2017 on Motu To'opua, the sunset side of the lagoon, after a full renovation of the former Hilton Bora Bora Nui. It wraps the motu so that some villas face the sunrise and Mount Otemanu while others face the open Pacific sunset, an unusual dual aspect for one resort. There are about 114 villas and suites, 86 of them overwater, plus five restaurants led by the French fine-dining room Iriatai, and the hillside Hina Spa. The honest caveats: it is a large resort reached only by boat, around fifteen minutes from the airport, so it trades some intimacy for scale, and the entry-level overwater villas face the motu rather than the open lagoon. Best for a Hilton-points honeymoon that wants both lagoon aspects and the widest choice of restaurants.

Best room to request

A sunset-side Overwater Pool Villa for the open-Pacific view, or the presidential overwater villa for a milestone splurge.

Concierge tip

Confirm a sunset-side overwater villa at booking; the west aspect gets the better evening light. Book Iriatai ahead for the one fine-dining night, and the hillside Hina Spa for the view as much as the treatment.

The wider context

Conrad Bora Bora Nui sits within our broader Top 20 Hotels in Bora Bora for a Honeymoon list. It scored an aggregate 9.7/10 across the three editorial criteria, competitive across the field, with the angle above earning its rank. For the alternatives in the same Bora Bora neighbourhood, see Motu To'opua and adjacent. For a different city entirely, see the related lists below.

With dates settled, the booking window that works is about twelve weeks ahead. The view-facing suites disappear earliest, and high-season inventory moves on a timescale of months, not weeks. Suite-level rooms with private plunge pools or terraces, the ones that earn this rank, are typically the first to sell out.
