Atlantis The Royal opened in 2023 on the Palm Jumeirah, beside the original Atlantis The Palm, and was the most-publicised Dubai luxury opening in years. It has 795 rooms and suites plus six signature penthouses with private pools and elevators; the four-bedroom Royal Mansion is the top-floor flagship. The draw is Cloud 22, an infinity pool on the 22nd floor with cantilevered sections that overhang the Palm crescent and the Gulf, the most photographed of the new-Dubai sky pools and the picture most couples come for. After dark, the Skyblaze show lights the building's exterior with water and fire, and a roster of more than a dozen restaurants, including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Nobu by the Beach, and Jaleo by Jose Andres, covers the multi-night dining. The honest trade-off: this is a large, social, see-and-be-seen resort, not a hideaway, so couples after quiet seclusion should look elsewhere. Best for the maximalist new-Dubai honeymoon built around the Cloud 22 photograph and resort-scale variety.
